“Polly of the Crcus.
Few playwrights have achieved the
extraordinary success Miss Margaret
Mayo has wrought with her exquisite
romantic comedy, “Polly of the Cir
cus.” Its long engagements in the
metropolitan centers proved that the
public was carried away with the
piece, and its several transcontinental
toura have demonstrated that its ap
peal is countrywide. The manage

tion has been rebuilt and the circus
features strengthened. ]t is assured
that patrons will be enttvely satisfied
with the high quality of the enter
tainment in every department. ‘‘Pol
ly of the Circus” will be presented at
the Colonial theater Friday night,
January 9th.
“Within the Law.”
Coming to the Colonial theater at
an early date is the most talked of
attraction of the past two seasons,
“Within the Law.”
“Broadway Jones.**
The happiest audiences in America
are those to be found at a Geo. M.
Cohan play, and this newest one en
titled, “Broadway Jones,” is no ex
ception. Geo. M. Cohan has furnished
many interesting entertainments for
America’s great army of amusement
seekers, but it Is conceded that in
“Broadway Jones” he has provided a
play that will endure, for the reason
that it breathes of real life, love and
laughter amidst scenes that are en
acted in an atmosphero of absolute
cleanliness.
‘‘Officer 666.”
“High speed on a laughing track,”
is the way one enthusiast writes in
describing the attractiveness of “Offi
cer 666,” the play of that name which
will be presented in this city at the
Colonial theater soon.
“Officer 666” is a fine farce cleverly
acted. The ntory has to do with a
great police mystery, into the scene
of which is introduced a marvelous
crook, a wonderful policeman and a
most fascinating love affair.

in a holiday season, but the total mix-

permits females under the age of
twenty-one years to be employed after
9 o’clock in the evening during threa
days in a week in which a holiday
is observed, provided the maximum
hours of employment do. not exceed
fifty-four hours in such week.”
