BIG DISPUTE OVER
IDENTITY OF BOY
Opelousas, La., February 14.—A
case of disputed identity that has
kept whole sections of Louisiana and
Mississippi in more or less of a tur
moil for the past two years is likely
to be solved here within the next few
weeks when a jury of St. Landry par
ish will pass on the jruilt of W. C.
Walters, who is to be tried on a
charge of having kidnaped five-year-
old Robert Dunbar.
The Dunbar child disappeared from
his home here on August 23, 1912.
Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Dunbar, the par
ents of the child, believed that he

was arrested at Foxworth, Miss., and
a child supposed to be Robert Dunbar
taken from him. As eight month*
had passed the boy himself had no
recollection of his former home. Wal
ters declared the boy was the ille
gitimate child of his brother, and had
accompanied*him from North Caro
lina on a wagon trip on which Wal
ters had plied his trade as a tinker.
At this stage of the proceedings
matters were complicated by the fact
that Walters furnished proof that he
had left North Carolina with a boy
of practically the same age as the
Dunbar child. Julia Anderson, the
mother of the North Carolina lad, was
brought to Louisiana. She swore
first that the boy was her son. Later
she became convinced that he was.
Mrs. Dunbar likewise was not certain
in her first identity of the boy. The
next day she was convinced that it
was he. The child was brought back
to Opelousas and has been living with
the Dunbars sinco.
Soon after the arrest of Walters
public opinion in the case became di
vided into two • camps. Walters Is
without funds and his case has been
championed by people in Mississippi
who believe his story. Extradition
papers were issued for the accused
man only after Governor Brewer, of
Mississippi had a special commission
investigate the rase and after a long
fight in the courts.
In granting the extradition Gover
nor Brewer issued a public statement
in which he said: “There is a sharp
conflict in the facts, many good, reput
able, disinterested witnesses in this
state being willing to swear that this
man was in Mississippi, and that this
child is Bruce Anderson, and not Rob
ert Dunbar, but this Is a question of
fact that I think should be decided by
the courts of Louisiana, and the courts
of that state, it may be presumed,
will give the man a fair and impartial
trial.’

AND STOMACH SOURS
“Pape’s Diapopsin” ends Indigestion,
Gas, Dyspepsia and Stomach Mis
ery in five minutes.
If what you just ate is souring on
your stomach or lies like a lump of
lead, refusing to digest, or you belch
gas and eructate sour, undigested
food, or have a feeling of dizziness,
heartburn, fullness, nausea, bad tast-
in mouth and stomach headache, you
can get blessed relief in five minutes.
Ask your pharmacist to show you
the formula, plainly printed on these
fifty-cent cases of Pape’s Diapepsin,
then you will understand why dys
peptic troubles of all kinds must go,
and why they relieve sour, out-of-order
stomachs or indigestion in five min
utes. “Pape’s Diapepsin” is harmless;
tastes like candy, though each dose
will digest and prepare for assimila
tion into the blood all the food you
eat; besides, it makes you go to the
table with a healthy appetite; but,
what will please you most, is that you
will feel that your stomach and intes
tines are clean and fresh, and you will
not need to resort to laxatives or liver
pills for biliousness or constipation.
This city will have many “Pape’s
Diapepsin” cranks, as some people will
call them, but yo uwill be enthusiastic
about this splendid stomach prepra-
tion, too, if you ever take it for indi
gestion, gases, heartburn, sourness,
dyspepsia, or any stomach misery.
