EAT LESS MEAT
IF BACK HURTS
Take a glass of Salt* if your Back
hurts or Bladder troubles
you.
No man or woman who eats meat
regularly can make a mistake by
flushing the kidneys occasionally,
says a well-known authority. Meat
forms uric acid which excites the
kidneys, they become overworked,
get sluggish and fail to Alter the
waste and poisons from the blood,
then we get sick. Nearly all rheu
matism, headaches, liver trouble, ner
vousness, dizziness, sleeplessness and
urinary disorders come from sluggish
kidneys.
The moment you feel a dull ache
in the kidneys or your back hurts or
if the urine is cloudy, offensive, full
of sediment, irregular of passage or
attended by a sensation of scalding,
stop eating meat and get about four
ounces of Jad Salts from any phar
macy; take a tablespoonful in a
glass of water before breakfast and
in a few days your kidneys will act
flne. This famous salts is made from
the acid of grapes and lemon juice,
combined with lithia, and has been
used for generations to flush and
stimulate the kidneys, also to neu-
tralize the acids in urine so it no lon
ger causes irritation, thus ending
bladder weakness.
Jad Salts Is inexpensive and can
not injure; makes a delightful effer
vescent lithia-water drink which ev
eryone should take now and then to
keep the kidneys clean and active and
the blood pure, thereby avoiding ser
ious kidney complications.

The German-Anstrian battle line,

The boundary lines between East
Prussia and Russia and Germany and
Poland.’,a* well as Austria and’ Rus,

sian- soldiers have been driven from
East Prussia, and much of Poland
has been taken from them. However,
they have not boon driven from- Aus

little indication they will be. Von
Hlndepberg will march south and
Maekensen north to squeeze the Rus
sians according to these plans.
Appendicitis, Jitney

New Orleans, La., July 22.—About

The attack of appendicitis was net
only lucky, but timely, because it so
happened that pretty Miss D. F.
Snow was right then a nurse in the
Presbyterian hospital.
The operation was performed’ and
Miss Snow nursed the patient through
the danger period and up to conva
lescence.
Recently the patient believed that
he waa atwng anough to leave his
room and strol^ a bit about the hos
pital grounds. Miss Snow, as the
nurse assigned, naturally strolled
along.
The patient and his nurse naturally
strolled aa far as the sidewalk. Mr.
Coleman became obsessed with the
desire to take a jitney ride.
Naturally, the qurse went along, as
the patient was not yet sufficiently
recovered to allow him to travel un
attended.
Something happened while the
wheels of the jitney were spinning out
miles underneath the car. Whatever
happened, however, is immaterial

The important thing is that the jit

to Gretna, where two witnesess were
requisitioned, a marriage license ob

That’a why the appendicitis was
lucky.
Mrs. Coleman and her patient re
turned to the hospital. The nurse re
signed her post; the patient insisted
that he was well. The couple jitneyed
