“THE MAJESTY OF THE LAW
, COMING TO THE ELITE SOON
George Fawcett, founder of the fa
moua Fawcett Stock company of Hal
timore and identified with Maude
Adams’ “The Little Minister,” “The
StjUaw Man,” "The Man of
Hour” and many other historic pro
ductions,, will shortly he presented
by Paramount pictures for the first
time, ih “The Majesty of the Law.”
George Fawcett’s sensational work
In "The Squaw Man” is one of the
favorite stories of the stage.
He wus easily the hit of the first
American production at Powers thea
ter in Chicago, and soon the -whole
country - was repealing his lino as
Big Bill;
“Got-a-goin,’ Bud, and don’t stop
to pick no flowers!"
Lewis Waller secured the English
rights to the pioco and produced it
as “The White Man," also engaging
George Fawcett for his original role
of Big Bill. .But, to Mr. Lewis Wul-
ler's surprise,, toi put it mildly, the
ovation tefldercd George Fawcett
was easily the event of the evening.
Cries, wells and cheers of “We want
Fawcett!” proved what a sensation
the American actor had proved.
“The Majesty of the Low” provides
George Fawcett with a typical

which he surpasses every other Am

giving a glimjise of an agonising
heartbreak which is taking place
within him.
This will be presented at the Elite
theater Thursday only.

Nashville Man Here.—Mr, T.
Griffin, Jr., of The Nashville Herald,
has been in the city for the past few
days attending court, Mr. Griffin in
cidentally took in the circus yester
day and thinks Athens is “some
town” to he able to get a circus as
largo as Bnrnum and Bailey’s to
come here.

Snider, the weather wizard who put
Griffin on the map, to impress him
into service in the effort to have the
cloud* pushed out of the way in time
to permit the Georgiu-Virginia game
on Saturday. The Washington fore-
cast received today is as follows
“Cloudy , tonight, slightly cooler .in
the western portion; Thursday part
ly cloudy.” Grier’s for October 2(
has the following laconic prediction
“Cloudy.”
Have you yoted today for an Ath
bns young lady for queen of the
Georgia Harvest Festiyal? Make it
a rule to vote at least once every
day. Stick to our Athens girls, fel
lows, for they are the loveliest in the
State., and it will help keep Athens
on the map to have one of them oc
cupying that’ exalted position—and
think of how, jealous the girls from
the other cities will be.
