The editors of the Progress de light in nothing more than they do to take a jaunt now and then through the country, see the peo ple at their homes and note the many indications of thrift and and prosperity. Accordingly the senior editor took the occasion last Friday to visit Findlay, Pine hurst and Unadilla. The people have been and are at work. The fences are repaired and the jambs cleared, the dwel lings and out houses show that they have had attention. The fields have nearly all been fu_- rowed with the plow. The oat crop looks well. Nearly every farmer is ready to plant corn. At l-’indlay we found several new houses just built. Mr. A. C. Bul- lington, Manager for the Findlay Co-operative Alliance Store, has an immense stock of goods and there are many evidences of a large and lucrative business being done by this Company. Mr. L S. At Pinehurst the merchants are smiling and happy, doing a good . business. We found Judge S. We cir- ; ciliated among the people amid found them all hopeful but still | inclined to try “hard times.” We heard here that there was’ an emigration agent in this com munity somewhere but no one hole large enough for them to crawl out.
