Moring and a tenant upon his farm by the name of Singletary had a difficulty in wnich Singletary' was shot through and through. The ball penetrated his back just below the shoulder and went straight through being cut out just above the left nipple. There are two versions as to how the difficulty occurred. Mr. Moring claims that he and Sir.gie- tary fell out about his work and that Singletary after cursing and abusing him started at him with a drawn knife when he shot him m self defense. Singletary claims that Mr. Mor ing had had an altercation with a negro and was already load.
