Several days since Mrs. C. H. Branch was critically ill and her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Luke G. Johnson of Danielsville, Oglethorpe county, were notified. Her mother and father, both very old, having lived together for more than 50 years, came at once to see the sick daughter. While attend ing the bedside of her daughter Mrs. Johnson was attacked with LaGrippe and despite the heroic skill of physicians and tender nursing of friends her system rap idly gave way to the disease and in two days our town was shocked by the intelligence of her death. Mr, Johnson was quite sick too but left Friday night in company with his two sons who had come down, and they carried with them all that remained of wife and mother. The death of Mrs. Johnson was unexpected and sad indeed and our whole town mourns with the bereaved family OFFICE OF Specialist in Diseases of Strictures, Nervous and Private Correspondence solicited. During the heavy rain and wind that fell generally over thiB sec tion Saturday a considerable Btorm6wept over the Northern and Western portions of the county. Out about Fuqua and Bvromville the wind played havoc with timber and fencing and while no houses were actually blown down they were badly shaken and the inhabitants frightened for they thought the houses would go every minute. The safe in Mr. Manuel’s office is near the fire place and whoevor opened the safe must have stood around the fire from time to time and watched Mr. Manuel as he worked the combination to open his safe, thus catching on to the numbers and turns.
