big jar of money on exhibition in

The increase of the reward fer
George Bundriot from $100 to $250
is said to be due to the efforts of

ner, a sohnol teacher in the Bun-
driok and Sbrouder settlement.
The jury in the oaso of Joe Quat-
tlobaum last week for the killing of
Walter Brannan in Unodilla, gave
him a verdict of ten years. The de
fense will ask for a now trial. If a
now trial iB granted, the oase will bo
bondable; then it is very likely that
they will have him tried for insanity
and try to got him in the asylum in
stead of the gang.
Remember we are the people who

which a white man went. into the
negro quarter in the night, possibly
to ooileot an aooount, and was mur.
dered, placed in his buggy and the
horse started toward borne. The
man was found dead the next morn
ing about two miles from the quarter,
where the horse tangled in some
bushes.

THE ROAD LAW.
The election on the road law
Tuesday resulted in 241 for the new
law and 1440 for the old. This is
tho information that is handed out
with tongs. Bpt tho official count'
is not counted, and not a day given
out when it will be. Tho returns
were brought in Wednesday and!
banded in to the Ordinary, as the
managers of the distriotB scaled-
them. The Ordinary bundled up
tho returns without opening them*,
laid them away in the vault and*
quietly wont about his work. Ac
ooi ding to the framing of the bilB,
there io a doubt as to whether a roav
jonty vote of the people will carry
the election,.or whether it takes a*
Majority of the registered voters.
There are 4-,300' names on the regie-
tration books. It is supposed that
the Ordinary ib withholding his de*-
cision until bo caw hetr from the

JERRY DOTS.
1 guess the Progress readers think
that the Jerry Correspondent has
gone out of the business, but I am
glad to say that I have only been off
from home taking in the good meet
ings during the summer. At Seville
I began the task of trying to induce
people to do better to Hun who giv-
eth all things. I have never met
with more olever people than the
good people of Seville. I had
heard that the town was so badly
rum soaked until it was a bard place
for a preacher to go. I spent sev
eral days there without seeing a
drunk man or a demijohn on the
streets or in the homes. I could,
however, smell a rum odor from the
0 pen saloons, but I thank God that
the Christian people of. Wiloox
county are going to rise up- at the
polls and try thew strength against
the sale-of all intoxicating drinks in
the oounty.
I accepted conveyance—the- kind
ness of General Moye—over to

rille, where I found' James Av Nel

is over 80'years old,, and gets about
like a boy. Pastors four churches,
makes weekly trip* of 35 or 40
-miles and looks after bis farm. He
took meotrt'and showed the finest
