HELP EMPE07ED. This paper has been pulling along through the summer months m re duced form to keep down expenses. "We have now employed Mr. O. B. Brady, and will return the paper to its former size, and give the news in good shape. Mr. Brady has oeen with the paper at Ashburn seven years, has an experience of thirty years in printing office work and knows his business. The A & B changed Its schedule Sunday. The farmers have commenced pul ling fodder. Col. and Mrs. W. F. George are at Porter Springs. The Southern Hotel is bomg re paired and painted. Miss Rosa Bell Glover of Macon is visiting in Vienna. Polioeraan J. J. Morgan baa re covered from fever. Miss Mary Penny is spending the week in Montezuma. Miss Minnie Daniels, of Lumpkin is visiting Mrs. B. F. Forbes. The farmers say they never saw better prospeots for a good crop. Miss Bessie Harrison, of Monte zuma, is visiting Miss Ruby Burns. Miss Jennie Huff, of Atlanta, is visiting her sister Mrs. J. L. Tag gart. Miss Ida Lewis, of the Progress is at her home in Cordele for a few days. I. M. Powell, of Cordele, is ap pointed game warden for Dooly county. Master Charlie, Forehand of this eity is visiting relatives in Mont ezuma. Erae'.t Drawhorn, 15 years old, died at Arabi last Tuesday of bone erysipelas. Capt. Sam Carnes went to Arabi Tuesday to seo his side daughter, Mrs. J. O. Harvard. J. F. Waters will out lrny on shares or for pay. See him and make a date for nis mowor. Mrs. Msrgarett Clements is very sick at the home of her son, Mr. Jesse Clements, at Arabi. Capt. Sam Carnes is off to White Springs, Fla. today for a stay of two weeks for rheumatism. The Vieuna Cotton Oil Co., gives notice to glaners in the paper. The warehouses should also give notice. Alvin Roberts of the Cordele News, and Miss Faye Worde of Ma- con were married Tuesday of last week. Miss Edna Earl Brand, of Cordele, is with the Progress this week in the place of Miss Ida Lewis who taking a week off. Dr. C. T. Stovall will leave soon for his second trip to St Louis; this time he goes to attend the meeting of the railroad surgeons. Mr. Henry Scott and Miss Marta Stephens were married last week.
