OF THE SUPPOSED MURDERER DUKE PALMER IN JAIL Marcus Vandiver, who lias long been suspected of the murder of Duke Palmer, twenty years ago, was arrested last week at his home in this Co., and carried to lliawassee. The Grand jury in ses sion at that place found a true Gill against him, and lie was plac ed in jail, bail being refuesed him. lie was removed from the jaP at lliawassee to Gainesville jail, the latter being more see lire. The evidence against Vandiver is very strong, and the sheriff of Towns county expressed his opin ion that it is sulHoient to hang him.
