Cleveland High School.
The public term of this school
closes next. Widneclu/. In eon-
widenition of (lie busy time of
year, l’rof. Hell Iihh decided to
five a vacation of u month before
tiikin<r n|> his work n/jiiin. lie
announees that school will com
mence iifpiiii, on Monday Octo
ber UOlli, the vacation allowing
many, who would be kept away
from school on account of work,
to keep up with their class.
We hope that the patrons and
trustees of the school will begin
to push the matter of t he needed
improvements of the school prop
erty, and all pull together for
once, to build up a permanent
school of a high grade in Cleve
land. Prof. Hell is ready and
willing to contribute his time,
and means to this end, but it is
impossible for him to accomplish
much alone, lie needs your co
operation, and must have it, if
there is ever a successful school
here. Tho only reason there has
never been a good school here is
because there has ne'er been a
harmoui/.ed effort to have one.
There has always been so much
cross pulling, and contrariness,
and envy, and a lot of other devils
work, that it is a wonder that wc
have any school at all.
Now, just for once, lay aside
all of this foolishness and every
body, patrons and trustees, make
one united effort, and you will
establish a school, of which you
may he just’y proud.

Gold-DuU.
Some very rich ore is being ta
ken from the recently opened
Glover mines, three and a half
miles above Cleveland. A re
porter visited the mine last
Thursday, and examined the
mine and character of the ore be
ing taken out.
About three and it half tons of
ore was on the yard, and the
owners refused <100 for it, as it
lay. Since then a ton and a half
lias been added to the lot, and
practical miners estimate the
whole lot, as it lies in the yard,
to be worth over fflh.
'I bis lot of ore will lie milled at
once, after which a shaft wjll lie
sunk to I he vein.
The reason this mine has not
been extensively worked hereto
fore, was owing to the financial
inability of the owners.
I he tract on which this mine
is situated comprises 200 acres,
and is immediately on the gold
belt, and is beyond doubt one of
t be richest discoveries ever made
in the county. The ore has been
paying the owners who have
been working it in a small way,
<110 per tan. after being hauled to
the mill, four and a half miles

lie seen at, the oflice of the I*no-

with a “J-wish-you-wcre-minc”
