the struggle, the pistol, being a
self-acting Colts, was again dis
charged, the second hall taking

! abdomen of John Staneell, from
j which lie died Saturday morning.
! Anderson is shot through, and
I is not expected to live.
Young Staneell, who had the
pistol deeply regrets.the mailer,

hundred dollar bond at Dalilon-

On the night of Dec. 23 rd the

Barn Burned.
Last Thursday night about 2
o’clock a in., some young man
returning fiom a Christmas gath
ering, discovered that a burn on

barn was a line.and rapacious one,
and the entire loss will not fill

origin, but there is no elite to the
guilt of any one.

An Old Lady Hurt.
Last week Mrs. Elvira Nix wife
of Mr. Win. Nix who lives near'
here, was thrown from a road-
cart while driving with one of
her sons and was very badly hurt.'
Her shoulder anil aim is very
badly injured and she. was cull
frightfully about the face, and it
is feared she will loose one eye.
Mrs Nix is a very old woman
and (Die who is well known and
universally esteemed‘
Her injures are such that it has
been imposible to bring her home
