Grover Cleveland is said to lu
fixing to write another financial
letter. It will giro employment
to an imaginative brain and will
do no harm. Thoro was a time
when what Cleveland said was
believed by the people, but that
time is gone. There is somet liing
pathetic in the losing of confide i
in a man who once stood so eleso
to the hearts of the people.
The Toecon Times is booming
Col. J. W. Iiobortson for Con
gress from this district. While
Colonel Robertson is a good man
we want to impress on the
weekly papers of the district that
they laid better wait awhile.
Early birds sometimes get'the
winm but sometimes they get “it
in the neck.”
A correspondent of the Blairs-
ville Herald notes the fact that
Charles fields fell into a mill
pond, and ho then adds: “We
are exceedingly sorry to learn
that ho got out.” We don’t
know who Mr. Fields is lmt we
imagine he must have gotten on
the stick candy side of the corre
spondent’s best girl.
An exchange ridicules the crit
icisms of Cleveland by what it
terms “little country editors.”
It remarks that what they say
has no weight, etc. It may lie
all right to charge that the coun
try editors have no weight, lmt
when they all pull together some
thing is sure “to drup.” The
voters of the United Stales are
not in the cities and towns. They
arc in the country where the
country paper circulates. It is
among these men that, the coun
try editors have inlliiene.o and it
is among these men that the feel
ing against Cleveland exists.
The large meat, axe which we
hung up in our sanet uni for Spring
poets lias not been used. We
bad expected to decapitate five
or six of them by this time and
to have used their heads for our
friends to sit, on, but the poo's
have steered clear of these dig-
gins. We arc glad to note that
they have come to their senses.
We notice sonic of their ell'usioiis
in other papers, but please ex
cuse this ollice. Time, breath
and money are too short to both
er with those budding blossoms
for literal v disliiielion.

A young woman, 38 years of
age, lieautilul, lovely disposition,
would marry a gentleman of
means. Must not he opinionated
or opposed to female sull'nige.
Address "Nineteenth Century,"
in euro News,
Now isn't this s W eel? This
level) maid of 38 Summers wants
a gentleman of perhaps 21 who is
not “opinionated.” She wants
him to stay at home and mind
the baby while she goes out and
juggles with voters and the bal
lot box. This darling creature
of 38 wants her husband to bang
his hair while she wears hers
pompadour or cut short; she
wants to wear trousers while hr
wears petticoats; she wants him
to make biscuits while she goes
out on the front porch and
smokos cigarettes and talks to tho
voters. Lord, bless her time.
She is indeed a nineteenth century
woman. She is one of the kind who
is ceasing to tie a woman. She

the feelings and impulses of home
