£ BAi) BLOOD.’
“THE LIFE IS TEE BLOOD-”
From it we derive our strength, beauty,
and mental capabilities. It is the centre of
our being, around which revolves all that
makes existence happy. When this source
is corrupted the painful effects are visible
in many shapes, prominent among which is
SCROFULA.
Tliis is a taint or infection of the human
organism, and probably no one is wlioily
free from it. It exhibits itsalf in various
shapes—as Ulcers and Sores, Decayed Bones,
Diseased Scalp, Sore Eyes, Weak and Diseas
ed Joints, St. Vitus’ Dance, Foul Discharg
es from the Nostrils, Eruptions, Glandular
Swellings, Throat Affections, Rheumatism,
Heart Affections, Nervous Disorders, Bar
renness, Disorders of the Womb, Dropsy.
Sypliillitic Affections, Liver Complaint, Salt
Rheum, Dyspepsia, Neuralgia, Loss of Man
hood and General Debility.
It has been the custom to treat these dis
eases with Mercury and other Mineral sub
stances, which, though sometimes producing
a cure, often prove injurious and entails
misery in after life. The long known inju
rious properties of these so-called alteratives
and purifiers has led the philanthropical
man of science to explore the arena of na
ture, the result of which has been the discov
cry of vegetable products which possess the
power of eradicating these Taints from the
Blood.
Dr. TUTT’S

Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral,
For Diseases of the Throat and Lungs,
such as Coughs, Colds, Whooping
Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma,
and Consumption.
Prcbably never before in the whole history of
medicine, has any thing won so widely and so
deeply upon the confidence of mankind, as this
excellent remedy for pulmonaiy complaints.
Through a long series of years, and among most
of the races of men it has risen higher and higher
in their estimation, aa it has become better known.
Its uniform character and power to cure the va
rious affections of the lungs and throat, have
made it known as a reliable protector against
them. While adapted to milder forms of disease
and to young children, it is at the same time ukj
most effectual remedy that can be given for incip
ient consumption, and the dangerous affections
of the throat and lungs. Asa provision against
sudden attacks of Croup t it should be kept on
hand in every family, and indeed as all are some
times subject to colds and coughs, ail should be
provided with this antidote for them.
Although settled Consumption is thought in
curable, still great numbers of cases where the
disease seemed settled, have been completely
cured, mid the patient restored to sound health
by the Cherry Pectoral. So complete is its
mastery over the disorders of the Lungs and
Throat, that the most obstinate of them yield to it.
When nothing else could reach them, under the
Cherry Pectoral they subside and disappear.
Singers and Public Speakers find great
protection from it.
Asihtr.a is always relieved and often wholly
cured by it.
Bronchitis is generally cured by taking the
Cherry Pectoral in small and frequent doses.
So generally are its virtues known, that we
need not publish the certificates of them here, or
do more than assure the public that its qualities
are fully maintained.
Ayer’s Ague Cure,
For Fever and Ague, Intermittent Fever,
Chill Fever, iS.emitt.exit Fever, Dumb
Ague, Periodical or Bilious Fever, &c.,
and indeed all the affections which arise
from malarious, marsh, or miaamatio
poisons.
As its name implies, it does Cure, and does not
fail. Containing neither Arsenic, Quinine, Bis
muth, Zinc, nor any other mineral or poisonous
substance whatever, it in nowise injures any pa
tiont. The number and importance of its cures
in the ague districts, are literally beyond account,
and we believe without a parallel m the history
of Ague medicine. Our pride is gratified by the
acknowledgments we receive of the radical cures
effected in obstinate cases, and where other rem
edies had wholly failed.
Unacclimated persons, either resident in, or
travelling through miasmatic localities, will bo
protected by taking the AGUE CUBE daily.
For lAvcr Complaints, arising from torpid
ity of the Liver, it is an excellent remedy, stimu
lating the Liver into healthy activity.
For Bilious Disorders and Liver "Complaints, it
is an excellent remedy, producing many truly
remarkable euros, where other medicines had
failed.

tover and Baker Sewing Machine
Fin HIS celebrated Sewing Machine has been in
3 tiss for nearly twenty years, and is now us
ed by over three hundred" thousand families,
and has gained a reputation far above any oth
er sew ing Machine. It has been awarded more,
national prizes than any. other machine in the
world; at the Gnat World's Fair at New York,
it, was awarded the Gold Medal; at the London
Fair it won the very highest prize, and in 1867,
at Far is, it, was awarded the Cross of the Legion
of Honor; besides this, it has won the First
Premium at all the State Fairs where: it has
been exhibited. However, we do notclaim that
premiums won at: our State and County Fairs
any great honor n-mark of distinction, as it
depends more on the operator than the machine,
they seldom have judges who are mechanics,
and judges, of a Sewing-Machine. At National
Fairs there are % sworn Committee, who are
judges of machinery. The following are some
of the reasons wl.y the Grover & Baker is the
best:
It, is the lightest; running Machine in use; it is
the simplest; it is more rapid in its movements;
sews directly t mm two spools without rewind
ing; sews all kinds of won: without baisting,
can do twice ns much work in a day as any
other machine; it is the most durable, and
almost noiseless; it sews equally well on all
kinds of goods, from the finest Swiss muslin to
the heaviest Bgaver cloth; makes the elastic
loek-stitcli much the strongest iu use,,and every
machine is fully warranted. Who can desire
any more in a sewing machine. There is every
variety and size of these machines, from the
lightest family to the heaviest leather machine.
These machines are now for sale at Cartcrsville,
Ga., by Leon A CAMP, in one of Judge Parrott's
new Store Houses, under the City hall. Ma
chines will be delivered to customers either in
or out of the city, and full instructions given
tree of charge; and Should any of our machines
fall short of our recommendation, the money
will be chcerfuLy refunded or placed in it’s
stead any othorrrntchine in use. Old Machines
