pieces and the little piece of rosin.

!| 'Cl.aning Statuettes.
'Nothing takes the dust moro free
lj than plaster objects, more or less
artistic, which are the modest or
namentsof our dwellings. They rap
idly contract a yellow gray color of
unpleasant appearance.
Ilere is a practical method for
restoring the whiteness: Take finely
powdered starch, -quite white, and
make a thick paste with hot water.
Apply when still hot with a flexible
spatula or a brush on the plaster
object. The layer should be quite
thick. Let it dry slowly. On dry
ing the starch' will split and scale
off. All soiled parts of the plaster
will adhere 'and be drawn off with
the scales.

Easy Way to Take Castor Oil.
■ Castor oil riay be most easily tak
miauled with orange'juice, a lit
tle sugar being added if the juice of
the orange is . not sweet. The dif
fer' ■nee between this and any other
mode of taking this valuable medi- j
cine is surprising. Into u very thin
glass l a portion of the juice should
be squeezed. Then the oil should be
jxmred upon this, and more juice
should be squeezed upon the oil,
arhk'h may be seen to float in a lay
r between the two layers of orange
juice. If the edge of the glass is
rubbed with orange the fruit will
.be the only thing tasted as the dose
sdhdes down the throat.
Toothache Remady.
A little horseradish scraped and
laid on the wTist of the side affect

relief. A better way ia to place a
ilittle scraped horseradish in the

Healthy Mothers.
Mothers should always keep iu
good bodily health. They owe it to
1 their children, Yet it is no unusual
sight to see a mother, with babe in
arms, coughing violently and ex
-1 hibiting all the symptoms of a con
) sumptive tendency. And why should
this dangerous condition exist, dan
gerous alike to mother and child,
hen Dr. Boschee’s German Syrup
would put a stop to it at once? No
mother should be without this old
and tried remedy in the house —for
its timely use will promptly cure any
lung, throat or bronchial trouble in
herself or her children. The worst
cough or cold can be speedily cured
by German Syrup; so can hoarseness
and congestion of the bronchial tubes.
It makes expectoration easy, and
gives instant relief and refreshing
rest to the cough-racked consumptive.
