J. M. Tumlin filled his appointment at this place Sunday. Mrs. J. T. Joliey and her son Prad spent one day last week in Kingston with relatives. Miss Fannie Genres, who has beeu very sick for two weeks, im proves slowly. Her many friends wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. Seward Jolley and friends spent Sunday at the home of his father, Mr. J. T. Jolley. Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Lowry passed through our midst Sunday to visit the latter’s parents. Miss Nannie Jollev spent a few day last week in Kingston, visit ing friends and relatives. Mr. Cairy Dodd, of Linwood, visited home folks Sunday. GREELY. Mrs. E. O. Shelhorse and win some little Bonnie spent several days here recently. Mrs. J. M. Swan, of Colima, has returned to her home after having spent two weeks with relatives. Mr Joe Hopper was seen in our midst last week. Mr. J. B. Shelhorse visited his son, Dr. F. O. Shelhorse, at Cal houn, recently. Miss Florine Hardin, of Sutal l*e, visited the Misses Roberts last Moaflay and Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Richardson spent se :ral days very pleasantly at Ran ,er last week. Mr. Fain Hutcherson is very sick with fever. His many friends wish for him a speedy recovery. We are glad to note that Willie Collins is out again after having been confined to his bed for sev eral weeks with typhoid fever. Miss Mabel Richardson is visit ing her brother at Marble Hill. Our little village is on a boom. Mr. Ford Bairon, our enterprising mail carrier, has purchased a lot rnd just completed a nice little cottage. We are glad to have them with us. LEEKES SCHOOL We are needing rain very badly. Jones’ Spring has failed and if we do not get rain soon we will have <q go to the Drummond swamp for water. There is a spring there called the blue spring and some say it has no bottom. Mr. T. W. Dent has four acres in cotton, from which he has picked 3856 pounds of cotton and- he thinks he will get 1500 pounds more. Mr. W. L. Harris is not running his saw mill now, but has shut down to ghther his crop of cotton. Miss Berta Thompson, of Bir mingham. Alfcj;'is the guest of Mr. I and Mrs. A. T. Dent. Roads and Revenues, Bartow county, Georgia, September term J 904 It is ordertul by the court that there be assessed, levied and collected on all the taxable property in said county and on the digest for the year 1904 the following tax for county purposes for said year 19(M, towit: Twenty five [251 cents on the one hundred dollars to pay any lawful indebtedness of Bar tow county past due and to become due, the necessary court expenses for the year, includ ing the salary of the judge of the city court, expenses of commissioners court, coronors fees, expenses of lunatics, public buildings and for any other lawful charge again** the county not otherwise provided for. Eight [Bl cents on the one hundred dollars to pay jurors pen diem- Ten [lOl cents on the one hundred dollars for a public road fund, as authorized by law. Four [4] cents on the one hundred dollars to pay commissioner of pauper farm and support ofpaupers.
