n Will You be Bead?
When the First Cold Snap Comes?
Or will you find it necessary to hustle around—hit or
miss—and buy your cool weather suit, after every one
else has picked out the choicest patterns?
Don’t make this mistake. Select Fall Clothes early.
Your common sense tells you it is the wiser plan. You
get the best your money will buy, and you get the full
limit of season’s wear for no greater cost. Besides this,
you fortify yourself against sudden changes in weather
that comes in the Fall. We sell the
Hand Tailored Clothing
.Made by Schloss Bros. \ Cos., Baltimore.
There’s nothing better—there’s nothing as good. When a man puts on a Schloss
Suit he feels and knows that every detail of the cut, make and finish is correct.
The picture shows a particularly stylish suit for up-to-date young men. A
“merchant tailor 1 ' would charge $6O for a suit of like quality, character and appear
ance. We can fit you better with more swagger, snappier clothes at $22.50. We
also have lower grades—look equally as well —

The weather is dry with no signs of
rain. The writer has lived in this im
mediate vicinity for 55 years and in all
these years has never seen the Etowah
river so low as it is i>ow. The water
supply over our entire section is the
lowest ever known, and unless we are
soon favored with rain to replenish it
it is going to be a very serious affair.
Cotton fields, where they have
been kept up w ith, are about shorn
of their fleecy staple, and, takin into
consideration the increased acreage
above last year, the yields will not sur
pass the past year despite all the fig
uring that may be done by those in
terested in the profits they expect to
chouse the farmer out of.
There will be, in the very near fu
ture, a telephone line from Kingston
through this community. The number
of patrons has already been obtained,
and as soon as the push of work is
over the posts w ill be set, and then
Ford can hello to Cartersville.
Jack Frost arrived here on the 15th,
but every thing was so dry that very
little damage was done.
On our way to Kingston, the 21st,
we met a 75 years old man on his way
to the cotton field;he said it was liislast,
day,and his wife told him she wanted
to see how much he could pick that
day. He is a lovely old man; we love
him and hope the Lord will let him
live a long time yet.
Prof. J. H. Jolly and wife, of Oak

the 20th to make room in their spa.

Mr. Fred Durant, of Jacksonville, is
visiting the home of his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. G. M. Isbell.
Politics are not discussed much in
this section, but we guess P will soon
begin to warm up, and at the end
Thos. Watson will not be wanting to
know where he is at, for some think
he will sure know then.
W T e are glad to note the new name
of the News and Courant; its name is
better. We wish for the paper and its
editor unbounded success.
