HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT
How many hours out of each week
would be saved by yourself, your family
and your teams, by the telephone ? •
Have you ever calculated how many
minutes can be saved in case of business,
sickness, or emergency ?
Have you ever thought of the dollars
you might gain, if you were only in
close connection with the market*?
Can you conceive of the pleasure to b(
derived from having in your home im
mediate communication with the homes
of neighbors and friends though situated
miles away ?
The telephone will pay for itself by
getting better market prices.
It will save several dollars every
month by avoiding needless trips to
town.
It will take and deliver telegraph
messages immediately without extra
expense.
It will keep you informed on weather
predictions upon inquiry.
It will order repairs instantly when
machines break down.
It will do the visiting and make social
calls without the trouble of “dressing
dp” and taking a long, dusty, heated or
freezing ride.
It will get a doctor on a moment’s
notice and maybe save a loved one’s
life.
It will get election returns as soon as
they are in.
It will keep aw ay insolent tramps and
prowling burglars.
It will keep the boys on the farm.
It will make homes happier, brighter,
better and more delightful in a thousand
different ways.
Progressive farmers living in the
country are installing telephones in their
homes, and in the • near future every
cultivator will have a direct means, of
communication with the outside world.

Indigestion Causes
Catarrh of tHe
Stomach.
For many years It has been supposed that
Catarrh of the Stomach caused indigestion
and dyspepsia, but the truth is exactly the
apposite. Indigestion causes catarrh. Re

muooua membranes lining the stomach and
aspMHaaie nerves of the stomach, thus caus

the Juices of natural digestion. This la
called Catarrh of the Stomach.

A Tribute of Respect.
W. F. Kemp died at his home
four miles south of Cartersville,
October, 15, 1904. This was sad
news to all who knew and loved
him. He had many warm friends
in this neighborhood, and every
where that be was known.
Mr. Kemp was born in Paulding
county a little over thirty fuur
years ago. Hi* life seemed to be
unselfish, aitd devoted to the wants
and wishes of others, He had the
happy faculty of winning frends
wherever he went; he had a gen
erous, warm heart for every one.
To know him was to love him. It
is hard to give up such a friend.
Indeed, he will be missed, and
his death is a calamity.
Mr. Kemp was married twice (
He first married Miss Herrletta
Jefferson. They had six children,
four of whom are still living.
Thirteen months ago he married
Miss Miss Minnie Dysart, who
survives him and mourns his loss.
He was a kind, devoted husband,
an affectionate father, a good bro
ther; as a neighbor and friend kind
and true.
He had lung trouble; had been
sick for over one year, for several
months was confined to his bed
and suffered intensely, though he
had a sweet noble nature, and faith
ful faith and trust in God, which
made him submissive and resigned
to the end.
Mr. Kemp was allied to no
church, but during his sickness he
piofessed religion, and had implicit
faith in the dear Savior.
When conversing with me once
about dying,he calmy said: “I have
settled up all ray business, have
made my will; fixed my financial
affairs, and made peace with God
and lam ready to go at any mo
ment.”
I feel and know that he has gone to
rest,
Where suffering is no more and the
weary ones are blessed.
Mr. Kemp was a Mason and was
well thought of by that fraternity.
He was buried at Acworth with
Masonic honors. A large concourse
of people attended his funereal,
which proved the high esteem in
which he was held.
A precious friend from us has gone.
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in the home.
Which never can be iilieu.
God in his wisdom, has recalled
' The boon his love had given,
Though the body moulders in the clay,
The soul is safe in heaven.
A Friend.

Kidney trouble causes quick or unsteady
heart beats, and makes one feel as though
thqy had heart trouble, because the heart is
over-working in pumping thick, kidney
poisoned blood through veins and arteries.
It used to be considered that only urinary
troubles were to be traced to the kidneys,
but now modern science proves that nearly
all constitutional diseases have their begin
ning in kidney trouble.
If you are sick you can make no mistake
by first doctoring your kidneys. The mild
and the extraordinary effect of Dr. Kilmer’s

CHRON<‘s
Wheeling, W. Va., May 28, 1903,
Some years ago while at work, I fell
over a truck and severely injured both
of my shins. My blood became poisoned
as a result, and the doctor told me I
would have running sores for life, and
that if they were healed up the result
would be fatal. Under this discouraging
report I left off their treatment and re
sorted to the use ef S. S. S. Its effects
were prompt and gratifying. It took
only a short while for the medicine to en
tirely cure up the sores, and I am not
dead as the doctors intimated, nor have
the sores ever b oke out again. Some 12
years have s nee what I have de
scribed occurred. Having been so signally
benefitted by its use I can heartily recom
mend it as the one great blood purifier.

Chronic sores start often from a pim

salves, washes and powders are beneficial,
the unhealthy matter in the blood must
be driven out or the sore will continue

these old sores through the blood, re

A Numerical Mistake.
“Private” John Allen tells of an
old-time politician in Mississippi
who was making a personal canvass
of his territory.
“Onedav,” relates Mr. Allen,“the
statesman was doing the southern
portion of the state. Suddenly he
struck a community that appeared
fairly aswarm with children. Never
had he seen so many little ones in
so small a place. Clustered about
one doorway were some fourteen
tots of various ages. In their midst
stood an extremely good looking
young woman.
“ ‘Madame,” said the politician
with a gallant bow, ‘you must
permit me to kiss these charming
little ones.’
“The woman merely smiled.
“After he had affectionately
saluted each of them he asked with
a genial smile. ‘All yours?
The woman blushed
“The statesman, with another
bow, then said, ‘I trust, madam,
that I may further tresspass upon
your good nature by asking that
you will be so good as to inform
your husband that Colonel
candidate for congress from this
district, called upon him this after
noon.’
“ ‘Pardoil me,’ gasped the wo
man, ‘but I have no husband!’
“ ‘But these children, madam!’
exclaimed the astonished states
man.
“ ‘You are not a widow?’
“ ’Oh,no, sir!’was the reply.
“ ‘This is an orphan asylum!’ ”
