WEAKNESS
M 2 1-2 Congress St.
Portland, Mainb, Oct. 17, 1908.
I consider Wine of Cardui superior
to any doctor’s medicine I ever used
and I know whereof I speak. I suf
fered for nine months with suppressed
menstruation which completely pros
trated me. Pains would shoot through
my back and sides and I would have
blinding headaches. My limbs would
swell up and I would feel so weak X
could not stand up. I naturally felt
discouraged for I seemed to be beyond
the help of physicians, but Wine of
Cardui came as a God-send to me. I
felt a change for the better within a
week. After nineteen days treatment
X menstruated without suffering the
agonies X usually did and soon became
regular and without pain. Wine of
Cardui is simbly wonderful and I wish
that all suffering women knew of its
good qualities.
Treasurer, Portland Economic League
Periodical headaches tell of fe
male weakness. Wine of Cardui
cures permanently nineteen out of
every twenty cases of irregular
menses, bearing down pains or
any female weakness. If you are
discouraged andr doctors have
failed, that is the best reason in
the world you should try Wine of
Cardui now. Remember that
headaches mean female weakness.
Secure a SI.OO bottle of Wine of
Cardui today.

Scolding is mostly a habit. It
is often the result of nervousuess
and an irritable condition of both
mind and body. A person is tried

and forthwith commences finding
fault with everything and every
body within reach. Scolding is a
habit very easily formed.* It is
astonishing how soon one becomes
addicted to it and confirmed in it.

THE NEWS, CARTERSVnXE, GEORGIA. DECEMBER 5. 190-4.
The South’s Prosperity.
I Southern prosperity is manifest.
Two big crops of cotton at good
prices have lifted the farmer out
of almost chronic indebtedness
and made him acquainted with
that—to him —strange phenome
non, a bank account. His ma
terial welfare will be still further
enhanced if this year’s yield
averages io cents a pound and
amounts to eleven million bales.
On such a bafis the south will
collect from the rest of the world
approximately $660,000,000 for
the staple and seed. Much of this
will be clear profit and will go to
swell the bank account of the
planters. Idle money being use
less, another novel experience is
before the agriculturalist. He
will have to decide on the merits
of the many ways in which his
surplus may be given an earning
capacity. He enters the class
known to the buisuess world as
investors.
Taking 7 cents a pound as cov
oring the cost of growing and mar
keting cotton, including wear and
tear of implements, use of live
stock, fertilizers, wages and rent,
the profit on this saason’s work
on the basis already taken will
amount to the stupendous sum of
$175, 000, 000, more by some $1 15,
000, 000 than the cost" of every
cotton mill in the southern states
to day.—Exchange.

A Continual Strain.
, Many men and women are constantly
subjected to what they commonly term
“a continual strain” because of some
financial or family trouble. It wears arid
distresses them both mentally and
physically, affecting their nerves badly
and bringing on liver and kidney ail
ments, with the attendant evils of con
stipation. loss of appetite, sleeplessness,
low vitality and despondency. They
cannot, as a rule, get rid of this ‘‘con
tinual strain,” Iftit they can remedy its
he-lth destroying effects by takingp're
quent doses of Green’s August Flower,
ft tones up the fiver, stimulates the
Kidneys, insures healthy bodily func

physical or mental distress caused by
