the juices of natural digestion This is

Money Slaking Hens.
W. J. Shattuck, assistant cash-j
ier of the Bank of LaFayette, is,
a successful buisness man; but
some day he intends to retire from ■
he bankiug business and gather
around him a few hundred hens.
Then he expects to grow rich
quick, believing no bank in the
state will equal the dividends he
will make from his poultry farm.
He has figures to suport his
claims, too. In his poultry yard
he has thirteen hens, and his
sales of eggs alone this year have
totalled $57.00. Pretty good for
thirteen hens.—Summerville News.

Over-Work Weakens
Your Kidneys.
Unhealthy Kidneys Make Impure Blood.
Adi the blood in your body passes through
your kidneys once every three minutes.
fThe kidneys are your
blood purifiers, they fil
ter out the waste o
impurities in the blood.
If they aresiok or out
cf order, they fail to do
their work.
Pains, aches and rheu
matism come from ex
cess of uric acid in the
blood, due to neglected
kidney trouble.
Kidney trouble causes quick or unsteady
heart beats, and makes one feel as though
they had heart trouble, because the heart is
over-working in pumping thick, kidney
poisoned blood through veins and arteries.
It used to be considered that only urinary
troubles were to be traced to the kidneys,
but now modern science proves that nearly
all constitutional diseases have their begin
ning in kidney trouble.
If you are sick you can make no mistake
by first doctoring your kidneys. The mild
and the extraordinary effect of Dr. Kilmer’s
Swamp*Root, the great kidney remedy is
soon realized. It stands the highest for Us

“When a child I had a very severe at
tack of Diphtheria, which came near prov
ing fatal. Upon recovery the glands of the
neck were very much enlarged, and after
the free use of iodine, the right one was
reduced to its normal sire, but the left
one continued to grow—very slowly at
first,_until it was about the size of a goose
egg, which began to press on the wind
pipe, causing difficult breathing, and be
came very painful. An incision was made
and a large quantity of pus discharged.
The gland was removed, or as much as
could with safety be taken out. For ten
years I wore a little piece of cloth about an
inch long in my neck to keep the place
open. During this time I had to have it
cut open by the doctor every time I took
cold or the opening clogged. In the Spring
or early Summer of 1884 I was persuaded
by my wife to use S. S. S., which I did,
strictly in accordance with directions. ]
took twenty-six large bottles, and was en
tirely cured, for I have not suffered since
that time. B. S. Ragland.
