The Georgia Interstate Saw Mill Association held a meeting at Valdosta last week, which was largely attended. Sessions we;e held this morning and this after noon and tonight, Repoits indi cated the greatest improvement in the demand for lumber, especially planing mill stock, during the last sixty days that has ever been known. In consequence, the price list foi i >O4 on coastwise stuff was raised one dollar per thousand feet. The interior prices remain the same. President Roosevelt has declined the invitation of the Atlanta chain ber of commerce to visit Atlanta next Mav, In a letter to President R. F Maddox, of that orguniza tion, he hints at a southern trip, about the time proposed by the chamber, but declares that if he conies south upon that occasion he will go direct 10 Texas. The president announces, how ever, that he expects to visit Geor gia during his term of office, but will lie the guest of Senator A. S. Clay. While at the home of Sena tor Clay, he says, he will visit Ros well, the home of President Roose velt’s mother.
