w Catarrhi of the
Stomach.
For many years it has been supposed that
Catarrh of the Stomach caused indigestion
and dyspepsia, but the truth is exactly the
opposite. Indigestion causes catarrh. Re
peated attacks of indigestion inflames the
mucavm membranes lining the stomach and
■cxysrgg.- ate nerves of the stomach, thus caus
ing the glands to secrete mucin instead of
the juices of natural digestion. This is
! called Catarrh of the Stomach.
Kodol Dyspepsia Cure

HOME OF ANDY JOHNSON j
Is Being Preserved by the Daughters of
Amsrican Revolution.
Today the work of removing
from this city lo the public park, a
miie west of here, of the quaint old
house in which President Andrew
Johnson was born was begun,
under the direction of the Co
lonial Dames and the Daughters of
the American Revolution, says
a Raleigh, N. C., dispatch. The
house was built in 1793. and then
stood quite near where the capitol
now is. being an out house in the
rear of the then leading hotel.
In an upper room, of a veiy low
pitch, aid of the humblest char
acter, Andrew was born. His
name was given him by a bride,
the daughter of the owner of the
property, who, returning late at
night from her wedding ball, was
told about the birth of a little
child to Polly Johnson, who was
the “weaver” of the family.
Dressed in her ball costume, the
bride ran out to the quaint little
house, went up .stairs, saw the
baby and at the mother’s request
named him.
The house was purchased by the
Colonial Dames and Daughters ot
the American Revolution last
summer for a nominal sum, and
arrangements were completed this
week for its removal. It stands

Seaboard Air Line and the South

A member of the family of the
University of Chicago tells of the
sad case of a young worn <n from
Indiana who was desirous of attain
ing social prominence in Chicago,
says the Harper's Magazine.
Soou after her arrival here she
made the acquaintance of a student
at the university, to \\ hom she took
a great fancy Evidently it was at
this time that she realized for the
first time her early education had
been neglected, for she said to a
friend:
“I suppose that as he is a col
lege man I’ll have to be awful
careful what I say. What’ll I talk
about to him?"
The friend suggested history as
a safe topic. To her friend’s aston
ishment, she took it seriously, and
shortly commenced in earnest to
“bone up” in English history.
When the young man called the
girl listened for some time with ill
concealed impatience to his talk of
football, outdoor meets, dances,etc.

TAINTS" Q
Columbus, Ohio, May 19, 1903.
Some four years ago I was suffering
from impure blood and a general run
down condition of the system. I had no
appetite, was losing flesh, and had an all
gone tired feeling that made me misera
ble. I began the use of S . S. S., and
after taking seven or eight bottles my skin
was cleared of all eruptions and took cn a
ruddy, healthy glow that assured me that
my blood had been restored to its nor
mal, healthy condition. My appetite was
restored, as I could eat anything put be
fore me, and as I regained my appetite
I increased in weight, and that 1 ‘tired feel
ing’’which worried me so much disap
peared, and I was once again my old self.
I heartily recommend S. S. S. as the
best blood purifier and tonic made, and
strongly advise its use to all those in need
of such medicine. Victor Stubbins.

Wheeling, W. V., May 28, 1903.
My system was rundown and my joints
ached and pained me considerably. I had
used S. S. S before and knew what it
was, so I purchased a bottle of it aud have
taken several bottles and the aches and
pains are gone, my blood has been cleas
ed and my general health built up, I can
testify to It as a blood purifier and tonic.
