The dinner gix'en by Mr. and Mrs

ty affair. It occurred on Monday at
the charming country home of Mr.
and Mrs. Brown, whose inv t.ations
their friends always accept with the
knowledge that there is much pleas
ure in store for them. On this occa
sion a huge forty pound turkey
graced the board. Following this
course were many others composed
of the daintiest dishes. Throughout
the dinner a punch of the most deli
cions brew was served and there
were many bright toasts to the bride
a id gro >.n elect to the host and host
ess, the little daughter isi the home
ane others.
In the center of the table was a
large pumpkin shell filled with fruits
and from this ran streamers of red
satin ribbon which reached each
plate. The dining room was pretty
in its decoration of holiday greeus.
Mrs. Brown wore a becoming cos
tume of light green with touches of
pink upon the corsage. Miss Cal

cloth and taffeta with which she
wore a large hat of the same shade.

1 uvitutions came over the telephone
last Monday from Mrs. J. P. Ander
son to come and spend the afternoon
with her. over a game of six hand
euchre. These were eagerly accepted
and the jolliest of afternoons was
spent. There were many Christmas
goodies, the hostess having served
both a salad ami a sweet course and
informality was the charm of the
affair. After this merry game came
prizes too, the head prize falling to
Mrs. W. M. McCafTerty, which proved
to be an onyx and bisque, mounted
thermometer ami the booby, a pretty
Dresden coffee cup, fell to Miss ldalu

The other guests were: Mrs. \\#W.
Young, Mrs Busie Freeinrn Abbott,

host and hostess have been married
but a few months and have recently
moved into their pretty little home,
the appointments of which are just
as dainty and sweet as the friends of
this industrious little woman, knew
she would have them The table on
this evening was a picture in its array
of sparkling cut glass, silver and dec
orations of red. Resting on a batten
berg center piece over red satin was
a silver fruit bowl filled with bunches
of luscious grapes, each bunch tied
with red ribbon. Placed at intervals
over the table were six red candle
sticks holding red tapers
A tempting menu was s. rved
throughout which the color motif of
red was in evidence.
The home bore a festive air in its
dress of ribbon tied holly wreaths
and other Christmas greens.
Mr. Reese Marshall, of Atlanta
