I feel that our school needs a little

ourcommunitv decided to improve
on the average country school,

ing. Prof. C. L. Anthony, of Pine
Log, as principal, draws rein over
some fifty in the school house,
while Miss Clara Anthony, with
some twenty-five or thirty, occupy
a neat bush arbor in a grove near
by, and even body is happy. We
will enlarge our building this win
ter. All lands near by are now
being more eagerly sought after,
on account of our excellent school
and Sunday school, to say noth
ing -*f good neighbors, etc. -y

Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gossett who
have been visiting the parents of
the latter Mr. and Mrs. Will Book
er have returned to their home in
Atlanta.
Last Thursday was indeed a
gala day for Liberty Mill Sunday
.school not only the young people
but the old people as well picnic
ked at Gilliam Springs; it is said
to have been one of the most en
joyable picnics ever held at the

Miss Lida Lockridge an inter
esting and attractive young lady
of Atlanta visited her uncle and
aunt Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Loveless
last week.
Miss Leo McKelvv is spending
several days with her cousin Miss
Leila Johnson. Miss Leo is one
of the most charming young ladies
who ever visits here and her many
friends are always delighted to
welcome her.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Booker left
last week for Atlanta where they
expect to make their future home.
Mrs. Bartow Watkins and chil
dren have been spending several
days with the family of Mr. W. M.
Smith.
Misses Leila Johnson and Leo
McKelvy and Mr. Carl Johnson
visited the family of Prof. Gil
reath at Cassville also Misses Vic
toria and Maggie Matthews near-
Pine Log; they report a most de
lightful time at both places.
Mr. Joel Adkins, of Taylorsville
was a visitor here again last week.

The body of Mrs. Martha Mc-
Crary was brought to Kingston on
train from Lebanon, Tenn., Sun
day. by her bereaved husband Mr.

Mrs. McCrary were both raised in
Kingston and had many friends
and relatives hrre. Capt. A. Y.
Sheats is Mrs. Cravy’s uncle. Mr.
McCravy and all the relatives have
the sympathy of our citizens.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Bowen and
their bright little son Dewitt, of
Atlanta, are visiting Mr. and Mrs.
J. D. Rogers.
Mr. C. G. Davidson, of Annis
ton, Ala., has been assisting his
father for several days gathering
and shipping peaches and was
called home on the 6th being in
business for Robinson Bros.
Quite a number of the laches in
Kingston are patking peaches in
the orchards near Kingston.
Mrsi T. J. Moon is visiting her
daughter Mrs. Kemp in Atlanta.
Rev. C. A. Jamison tilled his ap
pointment at Methodist church
Sunday at n o’clock a. m. His
subject “How shall you escape if
you neglect so great a salvation,”
was handled well.
CASS STATION.
Misses Ida and Jim Vernon left
Sunday evening for Calhoun, to
spend several weeks with their
aunt, Mrs. Harlan.
Mrs. Robt. H. Walton, of Ac
lanta, is spending a week with her
mother, Mrs. R. H. Walton and
family.
Mrs. Hale and daughter, Miss
Maggie, of Calhoun, has been vis
iting her brother and family, Mr.
and Mrs. J. G. Vernon, fora week
or so.
Mr. Jones, of Alabama, is visit
ing Mr. Quigg Richardson for
awhile. Mr. Jones is a theologi
cal student who has been attend
ing Clarkville Theological school,
at Clarkville, Tenn, with Mr.
Richardson, who is now- on vaca
tion with home folks.
We notice in last week's issue
that Rev. E. M. Craig, pastor of
Presbyterian church of your city
is going to Alabama, which we are
sorry indeed to hear as he has been
conspicious in building up the
church there, and going among all
classes asap a’er should. He
win be greatly missed, both as
citizen and pastor. We wish him
Godspeed in his new- field of labor.

sane, and reinvest the proceeds at their
pleasure; the right to borrow money
and issue notes and obligations there
for, and to secure same by deed, mort
gage or otherwise, with the same rights
and powers as individuals have in like
matters; to make contracts and employ

corporati seal; to make by-laws not in
consistent with the laws ot the land, aid
to alter or repeal the same at pleasure;
