THROUGHOUT ,M COUNTY. FOlil). Rev. Mr. Jamison, of Kingston, filled his regular appointment at Oak Grove lait Sunday. The weather is exceedingly warm for the time of year. Messrs. Biackman, Beck and Hubbard have been requested right recently to make room for —boys and girls. Sickness in this and adjoining communities is increasing daily and some of it is getting to be se rious. Cotton is opening very rapid where the rust got its work in ear ly. The past week has been very fa vorable for gathering fodder and many thousand bundles have been housed in fine condition. The shooting of President Mc- Kinley has cast a gloom of sadness over our entire section. We are sorry to learn of it and trust the wounds will not prove fatal. Mosquitoes are playing havoc with our section. The writer was on the coast during the war, but we never had to encounter so many of these pests there as are now present, It's fearful. There is no place here that is comfortable. Its a perfect whiz night and day. The air is full of little birds of some kind. We hear them every morning chirping as they spe :d their way on southward. The barbecue which came off last Saturday at Gillam Spring was, as we learn, a grand affair in j every particular. Many of our people are attend ing the tabernacle meeting at Car tersville. CORBIN. Misses Christena and Pauline Rogers of Pit e Log, are spending sometime with relatives. FIVE FORKS. Our school closed today, after a very successful and satisfactory term. It is gratifying always when any community comes together and works harmoniously the end is usually a source of gratification to all concerned. Our school com missioner board ot education, pa trons and teachers have all done what they could to make this school a success, and we are all Mother “My mother w* troubled with consumption for many years. At last she was given up to die. Then she tried Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral, and was speedily cured.” D. P. Jolly, Avoca, N. Y. No matter how hard your cough or how long you have had it, Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral is the best thing you can take. It’s too risky to wait until you have consump tion. Wherever the catarrh is, there is sure to be a waste of mucus. The mucus is as precious as blood. It is blood,in fact. It is blood plasma—blood with ths cor puscles removed. To stop this waste, you must stop this <tarrh. Acourseof treatment with Peruna never fails to do this. Hon. W. E. Sch neider, proprietor of the Baltic Hotel, of Washington, D. When they b< gai to sing with happy voices and op propriate gestures that be. Oti sul old song, ‘"Our Liberty Bill,’ at the conclusion of which &C crowd went wild. The af emoon was pro grammed for a general frolic, but quite an addition to the crowd came in, whose impoit inities, to gether with t! at of those present inf the forenoon, indu'ed Prof. Anthony to repeat a large part of the programme, and everybody went away happy.
