JOHN ROBINSON’S, Tented Amusement Enterprise. John Robinson’s ten united shows will exhibit at Cartersville Monday Sept. 53. For more than 70 years the Robinson show has had the reputation of being the very best of tented amusement in stitutions and again history repeats itself. All the champion riders, both male and female, the highest salaried aerialists, gymnasts and acrobats, the funniest clowns, the largest and finest collection of wild beasts, the finest herd of per forming elephants and hundreds of other features. The distinguishing feature of the show is the great spectacular production of King Solomon 3d the Queen of Sheba with its one hundred principals and a ballet of fifty girls. A'l the scenery, costumes and effects of this grand imposing spec tacle and new this season. The Iron Belt Railroad. The Iron Belt Railroad, which runs from Rogers station to Sugar Hill mines, has been placed under the jurisdiction of the Tailroad commission. At a recent meeting of the commission an order was passed assuming jurisdiction over the road and prescribed the freight and passenger rates, the latter be ing placed at four cents a mile. No court was in all that pertaint ed to magnificence than Solomon’s, and as historically reproduced with dozen of calcium and Vari-colored lights on the brilliant co.stumes and ; scintillating armor, it has received , unstinted praize from all who have | been fortunate enough to witness the grand spectacle. The circus has been character ized as the most interesting in its unexceptional features and in the general excellence of its ring per formances. The menagerie is large and comprehensive and in cludes living specimens of the rar est beasts, birds, reptiles and atn phibi. The colossal Roman hippodrome is in itself a feature that has no duplication and carries the specta tor back to the Imperial Ceasar’s day. The show will exhibit at Car tersville Sept. 23. Six (6) cents on the one hundred dollars for a public road lund aspiovid ed by act of 189i. 3d. Ten (10) cents on the hundred dol lars to pay jurors, 4th. Three (3) cents on the one hun dred dollars to pay commissioner of pauper farm and support of paupers. sth, (2)cents on the one hundred dol lars to pay bailiffs’ fees, son-resident witnesses, luel,stationery, etc. 6th. Three (3) cent® on the one hun dred dollars to pay sheriffs,’ jailer’s or other officer’s fees that they may be legally entitled to out ol the county. It is further ordered that there be as sessed, levied and collected a special tax of fitty cents on the one hundred dollors, on all the taxable property of said county for the year 1901, for a court house fund, t he used in the building ing ot anew court house for Bartow county. The foregoing items making the coun ty tax f *rthe year 1981 ninety-four cents on the one hundred dollars. It is further ordered that the tax col lector of said county collect said taxes hereinbefore levied as provided by law. , It is further ordered that this order be published for thirty days in the News and Cour&nt, a newspaper in said • county, in which tne sheriffs advertise ' ments are published, and a copy posted at the court house door for thirty days, and that a copy be furnished the tax collector of said county.
