months’ duration and his father,
Dr. J. G. Greene, went out a week
or more ago to he with his son who
thanks to a favorable turn, in his
case, rallied sufficient to return,

Miss Cora Milam, of LaGrange,
returned home Saturday after
spending two weeks with her
brother, Capt. J. C. Milam, and
with other relatives in the com
munity.
The citizens of Calhoun have
voted to issue $5,000 in twenty
year bonds fsr the purpose of erect
ing and equipping a school building.
It was voted at the same time to
place a system of public, schools in
the town.
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Godfrey,
who have been spending the sum
mer in New York, stopped over
and spent two days the first of the
week with relatives of the latter,
while on their way to their home
at El Paso, Tex.
The members of the Presby
terian church, are renovating
their church edifice, and the
Rev. F. R. Graves whom they
have invited to preach for them,
will occupy the Methodist church
next Sabbath morning and evening.
Mr. J. C. Oram was up from
Florida Tuesday and was smiling
and happy as he shook hands with
his numerous friends in the com
munity. Mr. Oram is located a
short ways from Leesburg and is I
doing finely in developing a great |
kaolin deposit.
Mr. W. H. Howard. Jr., spent!
Monday with his home people. He j
is the private secretary of Mr. S. I
H. Hardwick, passenger agent of j
the Southern, with headquarters at i
Washington City. Will is one of
the Cartersville boys who has gone
away and done well for himself.
Miss Julia Catherine Hall left on
Monday for San Antonio, Texas,
to take charge of the music de
partment of St. Mary’s Hall, an
Episcopal college for girls. Miss j
Julia is an accomplished musician, j
and the school is fortunate in se- !
curing her services. Her Carters-;
yitle friends regret to see her go so
far from home
