The past few nights have been
very chilly and cover was much
needed in the latter part of the
night. Winter time is close at
hand when coyer and coats are
called for, and we were informed j
yesterday that Jack frost was dis-1
covered one morning last week on
the farm of Mr. L. D. Jolly. Ac-!
cording to the katydids the frost
-already seen is pretty near the
time it should have appeared, only
about ten days difference.
Mr. and Mrs. James Jolly were
kindly requested last week to make
room for another—its a girl that
made the demand.
Mrs. Matilda Sexton, of South
Carolina, is now visiting her many
relatives in this and adjoining com

Cotton has opened rapidly the
past week but farmers seem to be
somewhat despondent over the
price, It's very discouraging.
I hose who have never experienced
.anything of the kind can’t have
0y kind of sympathy whatever
for those who are year by year be
ing paid less for their products
than it cost to make them. We
wish there could be some move
made somew here by some one that
would make the hearts of all those
who handle the products of the
•farmers more broad and liberal
ihau has been heretofore. No one
could tell what a joy it would bring
to the homes of our dear old sunny
south. We don’t want to grow
rich but we feel like if we could
get a fair compensation for our
product that we could do more to
help others in their sore distress.

We welcome back to Cass Mr.

Beauty is born in the blood.
Beauty is more than “skin deep.’’
it is blood deep. When the blood
is tainted by disease the flesh will
feel it and the skin will show it.
Sallow or muddy complextions.pim
ples, blotches, and eruptions are
only the surface signs of impure
blood. Face washes, lot’ons, com
plextion powders, may palliate the
evils but they cannot cure the dis
ease. The only cure is tp cleanse
the blood of the poisonous matter
which is the cause of the! outbreak
in the flesh and 'skin. Impure
blood can be absolutely purified
b the use of Dr. Pierce’s Golden

flesh and skin is marked. Sores
heal and disappear. The skin be
comes smooth, and regains its
natural color. The eyes brighten
and sparkle, the whole body is
radiant with the brightness and
beauty of health. “Golden Med

use pf Dr. Pierce’s Pleasant Pellets,
assists the action of the ‘ Discovery”
by cleansing the system of clog

Poisoned by Glass-
Atlanta, Sept. 23. —The 19-
months’-old son of Mr and Mrs. J.
W, May son died last night from
blood poison caused by a small
piece of glass sticking in the little
fellow’s foot. Three weeks ago
the boy while playing in the yard
chanced to step upon a small piece
of glass. The particle was so
small that it could not be located,
and for this reason it was believed
that the wound was only a cut. A
few days ago the foot became
greatly inflamed and blood poison
set in. Physicians were called in
but nothing could be done to stay
the hand of death. And in conse
quence life passed away last night
about 10 o’clock.
