A Cough “I have made a most thorough trial of Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral and am prepared to say that for all dis eases of the lungs it never disap points.” J. Early Finley, Ironton, O. Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral won’t cure rheumatism; we never said it would. It won’t cure dyspepsia; we never claimed it. But it will cure coughs and colds of all kinds. We first said this sixty years ago; we’ve been saying it ever since. Three irea: Zsc., 50c., 11. All drufgfit*. The services were very impressive and was witnessed by a large concourse of sympathizers and friends and relatives from Kingston and vicinity and a num ber from Cartersville and other places. After the services in the church the body was conveyed to the cemetery, and after burial ser vices the remains of one of the best Christian ladies in Kingston was consigned to the silent tomb. Too much cannot be said of her. She iiad no enemies. All who knew her loved her pure Christian char acter. A pure mother in Israel has passed oyer the river and rests under the shade of the tree. Peace to her. ashes. Capt. A. Y, Sheats, her beieaved husband and her only son, Mr. S. I. Sheats, and all the relatives have the heartfelt sym pathy of this community. The other sad death was Mrs. J. Samson of old had his Delilah to contend with but Sampson of our day has his Schley, and while the far mers antagonist got the best of it we think the latter’s Schley is going to prove himself as victorious as Samson’s Delilah did. The demands are issued against Czolgosz, the assassin of McKin ley. and he must die and ought to, but the thought of having so little time in which to make preparations for another world is very impres sive to our mind and how thought ful we should be who are unpre pared, for while we have commit ted no harsh crimes against the laws of our country, yet we have committed crimes against God, and who can tell 1 ut what our depart ure is nearer at hand than this wicked Czolgosz, who is now stand ing at death’s door and knows it. We need* more earnest workers, teachers and preachers to guide us iu the right way. Dr. F. L. Aruold is going night and day administering to the suf fering sick. Our people are delighted with the outlines of President Roose velt’s future administration and we do hope that his term of office may be as pleasant to him as his out lines are to us. We noticed recently an article published in the Atlanta Journal which claimed to have found the oldest living confederate soldier. If memory serves rightly the ar ticle claimed 96 years for the old veteran, The Journal will have to search farther. We have in this community Mr. Peter Buford, who is an old confederate veteran and on the 25th day of last Decem ber he passed his 100 mile post, and at this ripe old age it’s mar velous how he can get about.
