STILESBORO FARMERS’ CLUB-
Monthly Moetlnk Held at Mr. J. W.
L. Brown’* Home.
The monthly meeting of the
Stilesboro Farmer’s Club was held
at the beautiful country home of
Mr. J. W. L. Brown last Saturday
and a most delightful day was
spent by the members of the club,
their families and guests.
The convenience of the home to
the railroad tempted a number of
friends from Cartersville to accept
an invitation to be present and
enjoy the day with the fanners,
Owing to the absence of the
president and other members at
the state fair in Savannah, and
others attending the superior court,
there was not as large an attend
ance of the members of the club as
usual, and very little business was
transacted.
The dinner which is always an
interesting feature of these occa
sions, Was superb, and Mr. Brown
excelled himself in the variety
whDh he spread before his guests.
It was an elegant repast and great
ly enjoyed by the large company
present.
After dinner Mr. Brown piloted
his guests around the premises,and
strolling leisurely through the
grove could be seen a large flock of
immense bronze turkeys, the leader
being a specially fine specimen and
estimated to weigh about fifty
pounds.
A pen of fourteen fine hogs esti
mated to weigh about three hund
red pounds each made a pleasing
spectacle as they grunted and
crunched the corn which will
make them stiil fatter. The cribs
were full of corn, the barns over
flowing with hay. the stock and
cattle sleek and well fed, and bales
of cotton lying around waiting for
a better price gave evidence of
prosperity on the farm.
Mr. Brown has a beautiful home
and to be his guest is always a
pleasure.
There are some women who
seem to be perennially youthfu*,
The grown daughters are compan
ions as well as children, and the
color in the mother’s cheeks, the
brightness in her eyes, the round
ness of her form, all speak of
abounding health. What is her
secret? She is at the middle age
of life when so many women are
worn, wasted and faded, and yet
time has only ripened her charms
The secret of this matronly health
and beauty may be told in the
brief phrase, Dr. Pierce’s Favorite
Prescription. The general health
of woman is so intimately related
to the local health of the delicate
womanly organs, that where these
are diseased, the whole body must
suffer. ‘‘Favorite Prescription”
dries debilitating drains, heals
ulceration and inflammation,cures
female weakness and imparts to
the delicate female organs natu
ral vigor and vitality. Women
who have lost their health and
their beauty have been made
“robust and rosy cheeked” by the
use of this marvelous medicine.

PRETTY HOME WEDDING-
Mr. L.C. Hall, of Millfcdaevllle, Weds
Miss Emy L. Norris.
At the home of Mr. and Mrs. R.
A. Clayton, last Wednesday after
noon, a pretty home wedding oc
curred, that of Mr. L C. Hall, of
Milledgeville, to Miss Emy L.Nor
ris, of this city.
The home was profusely and
tastely decorated with chrysanthe
mums and vines.
The bride wore a beautiful trav
eling suit of castor cloth. Sue came
into the flower embowered spa
cious hall on the arm of her broth
er, Mr. John T. Norris, while the
groom entered with his brother,
Dr. Thomas Hall, his best man.
The ceremony was ths beautiful
ring ceremony, and was performed
by Rev. B. P. Allen, presiding
elder of the Dalton district, M. E.
church, at 4:30 o’clock.
The presents were numerous and
handsome. Conspicuous among
them was a chest of silwr contain
ing seven dozen pieces given by
Misses Maray, Maud and John
Norris.
The marriage took place in the
presence of quite a large gathering
of relatives and friends. Among
those present from other points
were Misses Marie and Myra
Graves, and Miss Mary Bacon, ot
Atlanta, and Miss Maud Napier, of
Milleageville.
The couple left on the afternoon
train on a short bridal trip to
Chattanooga. They will make
their home in Milledgeville.
The bride- is a lady of rare grace
and attainments and numbers her
friends by the score wherever she
is known. Mr. Hall is a popular
and successful merchant of his
town.
It Is Kan) To Say
“Be careful,” but we must all
go from heated houses into chill
outer air, ani the change sets us
coughing and wheezing. Avoid
ing winter colds is difficult; curing
them is not hard if you take Al
len’s Lung Balsam. Better begin
when the cold is young and not
wait until it settles deep into the
lungs, for then, with Allen’s
Balsam, complete relief will be
slower.

What to Do.
There is comfort in the knowledge so
often expressed, that Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp-
Root, the great kidney remedy fulfills every
wish in curing rheumatism, pain in the
back, kidneys, liver, bladder and every part
cf the urinary passage. It corrects inability
to hold water and scalding pain in passing
it, or bad effects following use of liquor,
wine or beer, and overcomes that unpleasant
necessity of being compelled to go often
during the day, and to get up many times
during the night. The mild and the extra
ordinary effect of Swamp-Root i3 soon
realized. It stands the highest for its won
derful cures of the most distressing cases.

A Tribute-
At the October meeting of the
History Club, of Kingston Geor
gia, expressions of regret and sym
pathy were passed at the loss of
oue of our most beloved and active
members. On the 25th of Septem
ber, 1901, passed to an eternal
rest, Mrs. Louise Evelyn Irby
Sheats, and our hearts have been
saddened, for the reaper Death took
from us one who was loved and
cherished bv her friends whom she
ever greeted with a smile and kind
word. She was ever ready to
plead her Master’s cause. In truth
she was a typical Christian and
her life bore much fruit. Her seat
is now vacant but in our hearts her
memory is preserved.
