moved to the Memmler place which
was recently purchased by Mr.

dred dollars has been sent to Judge
J. K. Hines to come up here and fight
the court house. That would have
been a fat fee for some home lawyer

Mrs. W. E. Stegall and children
who have been visiting relatives at
Stilesboro, left on Tuesday to join
Mr. Stegall at their new home in
Chickamanga, Ga. Their many

was entertained Tuesday afternoon
by Miss Jessie Cobb, and the occasion
was a delightful one to all present.

The Book Reception of the Home
Mission Society of the Methodist
church at the home of Mrs. Sam Jones,
Thursday evening, was a great suc
cess. Great numbers called and made
donations of books. -A collection
numbering considerably over fifty
volumes were gotten up to be shipped
to the mountain schools.
I A train load of soldiers from Fort
Riley, Kansas, to Fort McPherson,
Atlanta, passed through Cartersville
yesterday.
