three years, preached his last ser

farewell sermon being the first ap
pointment for his successor, Rev.
J. M. Tutulin, who preached his

of our people have expressed them
selves highly pleased with the new
pastor as they were loth to give up
the old pastor, who has been sent
to Greensboro, where we feel con
fident be will be well received and
give satisfaction to the good peo
ple of Greensboro.
Prof. Whittenburg, principal of
Kingston high school, with his
highly accomplished assistant,
Miss Mamie Headden, of Rome,
daughter of Dr. R. B. Headden,
have a flourishing school.
I am sorry to report Mr. Arthur
Randall dangerously ill. He has
been sick several mouths.
J. M. Davidson seems to be en
joying himself verv much since
his retirement from the depot. He
is delighted with his fine peach or
