It is hot and dry, and the farm

go the same way if we don’t have
some rain pretty soon.
Some of our people were scared
nearly to death last week on account
of Judge Fite’s court, but so far, I
havn t heard of any arrest being
made in our community. I don’t

He says he shot at a stray dog
that was about his house, but his
neighbor says that if the colonel’s

would have killed one of the best
old cats in Georgia. The cat got
a few shot through his fore feet,

GEORGIA PEACH.
Good Work Beinsr Done by Agri
cultural Department.
Peach growers in this state will
no doubt appreciate the efforts the
department of agriculture at Wash
ington is making to secure a wider
market for the product of their or
chards. It seems that a represen
tative of the department is at Fort
Valley for the purpose of making a
shipment of peaches to England
with a view of finding out whether
or not the peach will stand such a
long journey. Of course the fruit
will be kept in cold storage from
the time it leaves the orchard until
it reaches its destination. In the
event the experinieut is successful
a profitable market will be estab
lisned in English cities.
The market in this country is by
no means exhausted. Last year
there was a demand for peaches
from the western states which
could not be supplied. The .de
mand from that section promises to
grow as fast as the supply increases.
The peaches that were shipped to
Wisconsin were received by the
consignees in good condition, and
were sold almost as soon as they
appeared in the market at prices
which yielded a satisfactory profit.
The peach industry is in its in
fancy in this state. In the peach
belt proper there are hundreds of
thousands of acres which are just
as well adapted to the growing of
peaches as any of the lands which
now have orchards upon them.
Steadily these lands are being plant
ed with trees. It will not be sur
prising if within ten years there
will be three times as many car
loads of peaches shipped from this
state as there are now. Indeed
that is a low estimate, judging
from the number of trees that were
set out last year. 1

WILL MORROW CAUGHT-
Slaver of Sheriff McGinnis Arrest
ed After Ten Years.
Rome Tribune.
A man answering the descrip
tion of Will Morrow, who is charg
ed with killing Sheriff McGinnis,
of Gordon county, has been arrest
ed in Dallas, Texas.
The crime was committed in tlie
edge of this county in 1892 near
Plainvllle. Morrow wag wanted on
the charge of robbing a store and
had concealed himself in a house
with several others. When
Sheriff McGinnis went to the place
to arrest Morrow' he fired through
the door, killing the officer.
Chester Scott, who was with
Morrow at the time, was arrested
and convicted charged with being
an accessory to the crime. He is
now serving a life sentence in the
penitentiary.
Morrow made his and
despite every effort that was made
and the rewards offered he success
fully eluded arrest.
During the confederate reunion
in Dallas a short while ago Morrow'
was spotted and the officers there
think they have the right ma>..
Deputy Sheriff Bryant, Qt Lior

day en route after his prisoner. If
the man arrested proves to be

CATARRH jjjfc.
The treatment of Catarrh with antiseptic and
astringent washes, lotions, salves, medicated tobacco V -s* vjla
and cigarettes or any external or local application, is Js'Jr
just as senseless as would be kindling a fire on top of
the pot to make it boil. True, these give temporary
relief, but the cavities and passages of the head and the
bronchial tubes soon fill up again with mucus.
Taking cold is the first step towards Catarrh, for it
checks perspiration, and the poisonous acids and
vapors which should pass off through the skin, are
thrown back upon the mucous membrane or inner skin,
producing inflammation and excessive flow of mucus, -•
much of which is absorbed into the blood, and through the circulation
reaches every part of the system, involving the Stomach, Kidneys and other
parts of the body. When the disease assumes the dry form, the breath
becomes exceedingly foul, blinding headaches are frequent, the eyes red.
hearing affected and a constant ringing in the ears. No remedy that does
not reach the polluted blood can cure Catarrh. S. S. S. expels from the
Si, circulation all offensive matter, and when rich, pure
f blood is again coursing through the body the
mucous membranes become healthy and the skin
Kw) active, all the disagreeable, painful sj-mptoms disap
pear, and a permanent, thorough cure is effected.
S. S. S. being a strictly vegetable blood purifier does not derange the
Stomach and digestion, but the appetite and general health rapidly improve
under its tonic effects. Write us about your case and get the best medical
