forty-second district, was in the
city mingling with the people last
Monday. Mr. Taylor is a lawyer
of his town, is a gentleman whose
honesty, reliability and mental
forcefulness are well vouched for
by his people and will make a
legislator of whose record his con
stituency will feel proud, say those
who Know him best. He made
many friends during his visit here
who will be glad to give him their
votes, though he is running with
out opposition.

railroad, has moved his office to

Mrs. J. A. Crawford.
Mr. Hayden Womelsdorf, who
has been spending the summer
with his brother Mr. Lee Womels
dorf, left Tuesday for his home in
Pottsville, Pa.

THE COLUMBUS REUNION.
Confederate Veterans Planning for
the State Gathering:.
The Confederate Veterans of
Georgia are now laying their plans
for attending the state reunion
which occurs at Columbns October
28 and 29. These state reunions
have been pleasant gatherings
heretofore, many regarding them
as more enjoyable than the general
reunions. TheColumbusgathering
promises to be one of the best yet
known and the people of that hos
pitable and proud little city are
doing everything possible to make
the old soldiers have a good time.
Gen. A. J. West, commanding
the North Georgia brigade, has
issued the following order:

Tuesday and Wednesday, respec
tively, the fourth annual reunion
of the Georgia division, U. C. V.,
will be held in that hospitable and
patriotic city, Columbus, Ga, A
most cordial and fraternal invita
tion is extended to you and to
meet the expectations of our com
rades and friends in Columbus, it
is to be hoped you will make every
possible endeavor to be present on
that occsion of teeming and hal
lowed memories. Low railroad
rates have been granted. Trains
leaving Atlanta Tuesday morning,
the 2Sth. will reach Columbus in
time for business session of that
day. Depending upon this brigade
to make its usual commendable
appearance, we shall anticitpate
with pleasure coming together one
more time.
