HOME MISSION NOTES.
NANNIE HAMITER ALL,DAY.
The week of prayer which was
observed by the Home Mission
Society at the Methodist church
last week was well attended and
much interest manifested.
On Wednesday evening the con
secration service was of special
benefit. Surely God hath done
great things for us as indiyiduals;
and we trust that we will know
more of the love of Christ, and
reach higher heights in Christian
life.
Thursday afternoon quite an
interesting discussion on “Tithimr”
led by Mrs. Conyers and Miss
Wikle. Let us pay our debts unto
God, and then talk of giving. Is
it to us that God hurls that awful
challenge, “Will a man rob God?”
"In tithes and offerings.”
On Friday afternoon, Mrs. Sam
P. Jones presented the "New Work”
and told us the value of the
deaconess. Mrs. Felton, the "In
dustrial Work.” Mrs. Fannie P.
Clark, corresponding secretary of
the conference, told us of a letter
received from Miss Helm, who
is now on the Pacific Slope,
that Miss Burkhart, from
California w-as at the Scarritt Bible
and training school fitting herself
for a nurse deaconess, receiving
her scholarship from the North
Georgia Conference; Cartersville
auxiliary subscribing the largest
amount of money.
Every afternoon some part of
this great home mission work was
discussed.
Our membership was strength
ened by eleven new names.
Thank offering $22.25.
The object of this week of
prayer was threefold.
1. To give time to study all the
different departments of our work,
by intellegent discussion to arouse
a deeper interest in them.
2. To unite the hearts of mem-

Pains in the Hack
Are symptoms of a weak, torpid or
stagnant condition of the kidneys or
liver, and are a warning it is extremely
hazardous to neglect, so important
is a healthy action of these organs.
They are commonly attended by loss
of energy, lack of courage, and some
times by gloomy foreboding and de
spondency.
“I had pains in my back, could not sleep
and when I got up in the morning felt
worse than the night before. I began tak

THE FAMOUS SHOE FOR WOMEN —.
What the name worth means to a lady’s
costume, just that thing “Queen Quality”
means to a woman's shoe. It designates
the highest attainment to date. This
famous shoe sets the shoe fashions and
makes the styles for other shoes. It stands
pre eminent as the leading American shoe
for women. It fits the foot as a glove fits
the hand.
LET US
EXPLAIN THIS “FIT.”
There are certain parts of the foot that
need to be left free to work. The ball or
the forepart and the toes must have free
play for the expansion and natural work
ings of the muscles and joints. Other parts
of the foot must be held, supported, grasp
ed by the shoe. The waist of the foot, that
part between the ball and the instep, must

Mesdames D. B. Freeman, Sam
Jones, Pyron, Cuuyus, J. W. Jones,
Allday went up to Dalton Friday
evening to attend the District Con
ference of the Home Mission So
ciety, which convened at that place
October n, and 12.
Mrs. D. B. Freeman our beloved
district secretary, won all hearts in
Dalton. Her earnest sweet Chris
tian character, her devotion to the
work of the Home Mission Society,
her untiring effort for this work to
grow stronger in the Dalton dis
trict will surely be realized.
Mrs. Sam P. Jones’ talk on
“Tithing” was so impressive that
the pastor of the Dalton church
and the ladies of the convention
insisted that she present the same
subject at the 11 o’clock service
Sunday.
By her sweet songs, Mrs. Cunyus
gladdened all hearts, and lifted 11s
nearer the “great white throne.”
Mrs. Pyron, as accompanyist was
especially appreciated.
Mrs. J. W. Jones’ paper, “Why
every woman should be a member
of the Home Mission Society” was
suggestive and convincing.
Mrs. Christian made an excel
lent talk on parsonages. Five par
sonages have been aided in the
Dalton district by the Home Mis
sion Society.
Mrs. Evans, c ty missionary of
Atlanta, in her inimitable way told
us of her work in that city.
I wish every woman in Georgia
could have heard the soul stirring
talk of Mrs. Luke Johnson, on
“Literature” and the work at large.
Interest grew from the first service.
Sunday, the church was crowded.
Rev. J. T. Christian’s sermon was
highly praised. It will be printed
in full in the Wesleyan Advocate.
Sunday evening the large con
gregation was very attentive, al
though no collection was taken
several dollars was voluntarily con
tributed by the young men of Dal
ton.
The good people of Dalton en
tertained the ladies royally, and
were ceaseless in their efforts for
our comfort.

Mrs- Granger in Columbus-
Enquirer-Sun.
The visit of Mrs. Granger, of
Cartersville, the president pf the
Georgia Federation of Woman’s
Clubs, was a notable event in club
circles this week. Mrs. Granger
was the guest of Mrs. Chappell,
and a meeting was called at her
house for Friday afternoon, which
was very well attended, notwith
standing the persistent rain we had
that day. The two federated clubs,
the Students’ and the Orpheus
were represented, and greatly en
joyed the talk Mrs. Granger gave
them. She specially stressed the
the model school and the club
paper, the Southern Woman. In
the ..uccess of both these enter
prises the club women of Georgia
are much interested. Mrs. Granger
returned to Atlanta on yesterday
morning, but her brief visit was
delightful to those who had the
pleasure of meeting her.

The “Queen Quality” Shoe does all these
things. It fits the foot snugly yet without
pressure. It gives the ball and toes room
for free play and natural action, and at the
same time holds the heel and instep so as
to prevent the chafing and slipping of the
heel and the crowding of the toes, so com
mon with other shoes; which are the causes
of so many large joints, and other foot
deformities.
“Queen Quality” Shoes are sold by only
one dealer in each town. When purchas

Over-Work Weakens
Your Kidneys.
Unhealthy Kidneys Make Impure Blood.
All the blood in your body passes through
your kidneys once every three minutes.
fThe kidneys are your
blood purifiers, they fil
ter out the waste o r
impurities in the blood.
If they are sick or out
of order, they fail to do
their work.
Pains, aches andrheu
matism come from ex
cess of uric acid in the
blood, due to neglected
kidney trouble.
Kidney trouble causes quick or unsteady
heart beats, and makes one feel as though
they had heart trouble, because the heart is
over-working in pumping thick, kidney
poisoned blood through veins and arteries.
It used to be considered that only urinary
troubles were to be traced to the kidneys,
but now modern science proves that nearly
all constitutional diseases have their begin
ning in kidney trouble.
If you are sick you can make no mistake
by first doctoring your kidneys. The mild
and the extraordinary effect of Dr. Kilmer's
Swamp-Root, the great kidney remedy is
soon realized. It stands the highest for its
wonderful cures of the most distressing cases
and is sold on its merits
