Miss Estell Calhoun has return
ed from a delightful visit of two
weeks-to relatives in Atlanta.
Miss Marian Smith returned last

Mr. Martin Doyle has been iu
this locality for a week or so col
lecting a car load of Jersey cattle
which he shipped last Saturday to

Rev. Sam P. Jones w’ill preach
the thanksgiving sermon at the
Methodist church on Thursday
morning, November 27th, at eleven
o’clock. This will be a union
service and all the churches will
unite at the Methodist church.
Miss Miriam Steele,of Lafayette.
Ga., is the guest of her aunt, Mrs.
Jas. B. Conyers, on Market street.
Dr. M. M. Puckett is a candidate
for alderman in Dalton. Dr.
Puckett served a term as alderman
of this city during his residence
here several years ago, and made a
faithful, wide awake and competent
official. His people will make no
mistake if they shall bestow muni
cipal honors on him again.
Hon. M. L. Johnson, who has
been confined to his home at Cass
Station with fever for the past six
weeks, was in town last Saturday,
and his friends were glad to see
him out again. He lost some of
his avoirdupois, but is gradually
gaining his strength, and will soon
be himself again.
