One of the coming needs, if it
has not already come, is double
tracking the W. & A. R. R., from
Dalton to Cartersville. Then all
trains could be so scheduled to pass
between these two points. This
would reduce the possibility of
collisions to a minimum and help
materially to hurry freight in the 1
busiest seasons. This is not written
because of any complaint in any
way, for fewer roads are more
nearly on time or more capably
managed than the ‘‘old reliable,”
but because railroading is becom
ing more nearly a science day by
day and this section of the state
would be greatly benefited by the
double tracking.—Dalton Press.

side of the jail, he found a corner
where the inner timbers were soft
from dry rot and with his hands
and a short stove poker he had
clawed out a hole to the bricks and
there had gouged out a place reach
ing to the outer layer of brick. He
would soon have effected his es

covered. The jail is needing sub

There is comfort in the knowledge so
often expressed, that Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp-
Root, the great kidney remedy fulfills every
wish in curing rheumatism, pain in the
back, kidneys, liver, bladder and every part
of the urinary passage. It corrects inability
to hold water and scalding pain in passing
it, or bad effects following use of liquor,
wine or beer, and overcomes that unpleasant
necessity of being compelled to go often
during the day, and to get up many times
during the night. The mild and the extra
ordinary effect of Swamp-Root is soon
realized. It stands the highest for its won
derful cures of the most distressing cases.
