HOME MISSION BULLETIN
NANNIE HAMITER ALLDAY.
Oi'R Motto.
“Serve the Lord gladly” was the
motto given by Mrs. Frank Siler.
She asked, “VV hat can the Lord
do with a discouraged soul?” At
the close of each mission service
this good woman relreshed both
io ly and spirit as she led us to
<o:ntnune With God and explained
tile great truths of the Scriptures.
Do Alms
The world i eeds sympathy and
love. Dorcas did alms, not gave
aims. The gift from her hand was
the overflow of love from her heart.
It wa-i her c ilei delight to he like
her Lord, who went aDout doing
good.

UTERAHY NOILS.
As pretty a piece of fiction as wq
have read in a long day is this little
novel. “Incoguitio,” by Helen
Sherman Griffith (niece of General
Sherman) in Ltppencotts for April.
It shows Mrs. Griffith’s acquaint
ance with fashionable life, and
besides, has a flowing fund of
humor. It is about his Majesty of
Kbrlund, who wanted an American
wife and came here incog. He got
the nicest girl of all, but she was
neither the first in wealth nor in
family—just plain Jane?
The Review of Reviews for
April has several important articles
bearing on the war in the far East.
Dr. E. J. Dillon, the English cor
respondent, epitomizes the situa
tion at St. p eter-burg, in a charac
terization of the men now at the
fore in the Czar’s councils, —nota-
bly Admiral Alexieff. Dr. G.
Frederick Wii'bt, author of “Rus
sia in Asia,” summaries the Russia
contributions to Asiatic civiliza
tion, and states with clearness aud
force the Russian case as regards
ttie occupation of Manchuria.
There is also au interesting digest
of Russian opinion on American
“meddliug” iu the far East, as
voiced in the most influential Rus
sian journals. This is followed by
a discriminating article on “What
the People Read in Russia.” In
the department of “Leading Arti
cles of the Month,” both sides of
the present controversy are pre
sented in the form of reviews and
abridgment of article* appearing
iu the leading English and conti
nental periodicals.
“Wee Macgreegor” has contrib
uted one of his delicious Scotch
tales to Lippincott's Magazine for
April. It is called “For Granpaw
Purdie.”
Scribner’s Magazine for April
gives a very effective and artistic
presentation of the beauties of the
World’s Fair at St. Louis in a
seiies of drawings by Jules Guerin
four of them reproduced in colors
Montgomery Schuyler, the well
known art critic, writes of tne
architectural significance of the
great Exposition which is soon to
open.
John Corbin, the dramatic critic
recently spent several years in
England, and he has written from
his experiences there a charm
ing articles on “Play-Going in
London.’’

A Wasted Hour.
ownsend in Forest Blade.
An hour wasted seems of small
account, but an hour too late for
tne cars, the boat or the bank, may
cost a fortune, a journey or a life.
An hour of sin may cost a life
of sorrow, and an hour’s delay in
case of fire, disease or danger, may
ruin the most vital interest. But
even if all hours were alike and to
grand and critical periods where
lifetimes are massed iu moments,
vet a wasted hour is no trifling af
fair. Time is the warp into which
life is woven, and so wasted time
is lost life. Suppose we lose an
hour every day. Here are seven
hours lost in a week, 355 hours or
thirty-six days and a half of work
ing time in a year or five years of
time lost in fifty yeats. Who can
afford such waste ?
L’fe is short, time is precious,
laborers are few, and yet men tri
fle away moments, which are more
precious than gems, and squander
hours which gold could never pur
chase, which tears never re
gain. See then that you walk cir
cumspectly, not as fools but as
wise men redeeming time because
the days are evil. So let’s be ready
for labor, burdens or for enduring
sorrow. Our service shall be ac
cepted of God in this world and
shall not lose its reward, and com
ing at last to the bound of life we
can say we have fought a good
fight.
Be'.t C u gh Medicine for Children.
When you buy a cough medicine
for small children you want one in
which you can place implicit confi
dence. You want one that not onlv
relieves but cures. You want one
that is unquestionably harmless.
You want one that is pleasant to take.
Chamberlain's Cough Remedy meets
all of these conditions. There is
nothing so go >d for the coughs and
colds incident to childhood. It is I
also a certain preventive and cure !
for croup, and there is no danger '
whatever from whoopipg cough when
it is given. It has been used in j
many epidemics of that disease with '
perfect success. For sale by Greene

Indigestion Causes
Catarrh of the
Stomach.
For many years it has been supposed that
Catarrh of the Stomach caused indigestion
and dyspepsia, but the truth is exactly the
opposite. Indigestion causes catarrh. Re
peated attacks of indigestion inflames the
mucous membranes lining the stomach and
exposes the nerves of the stomach, thus caus
ing the glands to secrete mucin instead of
the juices of natural digestion. This is
called Catarrh of the Stomach.
Kodol Dyspepsia Cure
relieves all inflammation of the mucous
membranes lining the stomach, protects the
nerves, and cures bad breath, sour risings, a
sense of fullness after eating, indigestion,
dyspepsia and all stomach troubles.
