It may be a piece of superfluous advice to urge people at thi; seast n of the vear to lay in a supply of I Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. It is 1 almost sure to be needed before win- > ter is over, and much more prompt and satisfactory results are obtained when taken as soon as a cold is con tracted and before it has become set tled in the system, which can only be done by keeping the remedy at hand. This remedy is so widely known and so altogether good that no one should hesitate about buying it in preference to any other. It is for sale by Greene Drug Cos. and M. F. Word. 1 Continual Strain. Many men and women are constantly subjected to what they commonly term “a continual strain” because of some financial or family trouble. It wears and distresses them both mentally and physically, affecting i,heir nerves badly and bringing on liver and kidney ail ments, with the attendant evils of con stipation. loss ot appetite, sleeplessness, low vitality and oespondenev. They cannot, as a rule, get rid of this ‘‘con tinual strain,” hut they can remedy its health destroying effects by taking fre quent doses ot Green’s August Flower. It tones up the liver, stimulates the Kidneys, insures healthy bodily func tions, gives vim and spirit to one’s whole being, and eventually dispels the physical or mental distress caused by that “continual strain.” Trial bottle of August Flower, 25e; regular size, 75c. At all druggists. Good for Children. The pleasant to take and harmless One Minute Cough Cure gives instant relief in all cases of Cough, Croup arid LaGrippe because it does not pass immediately into the stomach, but takes effect right at the seat of the trouble. It draws out the inflamma tion, heals and soothes and cures per manently by enabling the lungs to contribute pure life-giving and life sustaining oxygen to the blood and tissues. Sold by Greene Drug Cos. Pill Pleasure. If you ever took DeWitt’s Little Early Risers for billiousness or con stipation you know what pill pleasure is. These famous little pills dearie the liver and rid the system of all bile without producing unpleasant effects. They do not gripe, sicken or weaken, but pleasantly give tone and strength to the tissues and organs of the stomach, liver and bowels. Sold by Greene Drug Cos. A Sustaining Diet. These are the enervating days when, as somebody has said, men drop by the sunstroke as if the Day of fire had dawned. They are fraught with danger to people whose systems are poorly sustained; and this leads us to say, in the interest of the less robust of our readers, that the full effect of Hood’s Sarsaparilla is such as to suggest the propriety of calling this medicine something besides a blood purifier and tonic—say. a sus taining diet. It makes it much eas ier to bear the heat, assures refresh ing sleep and will without any doubt avert much sickness at this time of year. Danger In Fall Colds. Fall colds are liable to hang on all winter leaving the seeds of pneu monia, bronchitis or consumption, Foley’s Honey and Tar cures quickly prevents serious results. It is old and reliable, tried and tested, safe and sure. Contains no opiates and will not constipate. Greene Drug Cos. Lost No Time. “Mi?B Grabbs declares her girl friends can’t deny that her attach ment to that gentleman with a title was a case of love at first sight.” “That’s very true,” replied Miss Cayenne. “She saw him first.” Washington Star. Competing With the Bishop. A friend met Herr Glostein, the Grand street saloon keeper, famous for his fish stories and wit, says the New York Times. “Well, Glostein, making any mon ey these days?” “How do you expect me to make anv majiev in the 6aloon business these days?” asked Glostein. “Why not ?” asked his friend. “Because I’m in Potter’s field.” Both took beer. I never received any permanent bene fit from any medicine until I tried Foley’s Kidney Cure. After using two bottles, lam cured,” For sale by Greene Drug Cos. A Judicious lnqnry. A well known traveling man who visits the druggist inquired of custo mers who asked for a cough medicine, whether it was wanted for a child or for an adult, and if lor a child they almost invariably recommend Cham berlain’s Cough Remedy. The reason for this is that it always cures. There is not the least danger from it and for coughs, colds and croup it is unsur passed. For sale by Gie3ne Drug Cos. and M. F. Word. Etching Eggshells. Melt some tallow and with it {mint on the shell of an egg, making etters, numbers, profiles or any out line which your fancy may suggest, then immerse the egg in strong vin egar. After the lapse of a few hours whatever is covered with the lines of tallow will project slightly, the vinegar’s acetic acid having dissolv ed away the unprotected surface. By painting with a fine brush an intricate scroll or vine pattern, car rying it all around the egg, the re sult is very pretty, giving the effect of carved ivory. A Cat Tail. “Oil, see, grandpa! Oh, Just look there! Meow, meow! What can it be?” Said grandpa, “I do declare, That's our ancestral tree!” —St. Nicholas. Eve's Apple Tree. In Ceylon there is a tree called “Eve’s apple tree,” which is remark able in that the orange fruit is beautiful to look upon, yet out of each fruit a piece appears to have been bitten. It is said that the sim ulation of a fruit which has been bitten into i6 perfect. For this rea son and because the fruit is a deadly poison, the natives declare that it is the same tree which grew in the garden of Eden, and is a perpetual reminder of a disobedient act. Bessie and the Kitty Birds. “I know where there is a catbird’s nest,” said Jack as he came in to dinner, “and it’s full of young ones.” “Let me see,” shouted wee Bessie. “I want to see the kitty birds.” ’ 1 Eg jj K 1 culiar to women ever attained, the proprietors and makers of Dr. Pierce’s Favorite Prescription now feel fully warranted in offering to pay SSOO in legal money of the United States for any case of Leucorrhea, Female Weakness, Prolapsus, or Falling of Womb, which they cannot cure. _ All they ask is a fair and reasonable trial of their means of cure. No other medicine than Dr. Pierce’s Fa vorite Prescription could possibly "win out," as the saying goes, on such a proposi tion; but they know whereof they speak. They have the most remarkable record of cures made by this world-famed remedy ever placed to the credit of any prepara tion especially designed for the cure of woman’s peculiar ailments. This wonder ful remedy, therefore, stands absolutely alone as the only one possessed of such unrivaled properties as to fully warrant its makers in publishing the remarkable offer above made in the utmost good faith. "A short time ago I was almost dead with nervous prostration, general debility and female weakness,” writes Mrs. Loretto Webster, of 317 Virginia Ave., Lexington, Ky., Worthy Treasur er, Independent Order of Good Templars, Dr. Pierce’s Favorite Prescription was recommend ed to me as a sure cure, and I found this to be true, for I obtained splendid results, securing fine health. Women ought to be grateful to think there Is one safe and sure cure offered to them for their troubles. I advise every sick and suffering woman to stop spending money and wasting time with doctors’ prescriptions, when a few bottles of your remedy is sure to cure. I am the happy mother of two children, boy aged sixteen, and girl, eight years.” Do not permit the dealer to insult your intelligence by suggesting some other com pound which he recommends as "just as good,” because he makes it himself. Dr. Pierce’s Favorite Prescription has stood the test of time and experience. Thou sands speak well of it —because thousands have been cured by it. TO BEAUTIFY YOUR COM PLEXION IN IO DAYS, USE ..
