Scott was a visitor to Carters ville Thursday. Mr. Harry Ford went down to Acwortli Friday and cut in an office of the Postal Telegraph Cable Cos. Owing to the great increase in tele graph business the company will string more wires on their poles so as to give their customers the quickest service possible. Miss Maggie Brewster, of Talla poosa, is the guest ot Miss Ruth Shockley. Miss Mamie Alley has returned home after a pleasant visit to Kings ton. Mr. Robert J. Speir left Tuesday for the Southern Medical College. His friends are glad to learn that he has decided to follow his father's profession. Mrs. H. L. Roberts and Mrs. Jabez Galt, of Canton, are the guests of Mrs. Amanda Speir and Mrs. John Lewis. Mr. M. D. McEwen left last Thurs day for Grand Island, Fla., to spend the winter. Miss Laura Roberts is now at Scheuer's where she will be pleased to meet her friends. P. Morgan's* tragic death last Monday morning. A deep gloom has been cast over social and business circles for in both he, the genial “Bert'’ Morgan, was a great favorite. His countless friends mourn his loss and have manifested their tenderest sympathy toward the bereaved wife in her great sorrow. The secret is out that the J. W.
