■ A Frightful Accident.
La4r Saturday afternoon, about
4 o’clock, Mr. Klihu Hall, a promi
nent builder of this city, met with
a distressing accident. He was at
work on the new house of Judge J.
M. Neel and at the time of the jicei
dent was climbing on a ladder
reaching from the joist of the sec
ond story to the roof. When about
half way up the ladder turned,
thriving Mr. Hi il off, he striking
the sills of the first floor, a distance
of about sixteen feet. He was pick
ed up by fellow workmen and car
ried home, l>r. J. L. Johnson being
called in to relieve the sufferer. Mr.
Hall, in the. fall, received several
painful hurts, but luckily no bones
were broken and his injuries are
not thought to be serious. The
whole community deeply deplore
the accident and it is hoped Mr.
Hail will speedily recover from his
injuries. He is one of our best citi
zens, one whose loss would be great
ly felt, and it is therefore a matter
of public congratulation that he
escaped, though narrowly, a fright
ful death. j
