MY>y Eager to Go Atlanta, July 15. It would hot surprise any o.ie about the capital if another call for volunteers should be made, by the national govern ment to meet t)ie demands for more American trpops in China,. Another, prevailing impression seems to be that if a call is made that the num ber of volunteers asked for will be 50,006. Should the government see fit to dotthis Georgia'ss s Georgia's propor tion of this number would 'be one regiment and one battery of artil lery, that is if it is determined to call far volunteers £pr these branch es) of the service. Governor Candler is of the opin ion that if a call for volunteers was issued from Washington, that the government could get ten thoti sahd men from Georgia alone, and that these could be mustered into service in a very short time. He says that not qnlv this, but the troops would be bettef disciplined, and in consequence more servicable for field duty. Several officers connected with J the state troops who saw service in the scrap with Spain (and many others! who were disappointed that they did not get into service at that timevafre quite anxious to go in now if they aie wanted, and should the caill come they will be found, tum bling over each other in their ea gerness to get to the front.
