COTTON B AGGING
The AlliaiiC'* Commit!Make an Impor
tant Anuonncement.
The committee appointed to secure the
manufacture of cotton bagging, upon
invitation, met in conference the South
ern < otton Manufacturers’ Association,
at Augusta, to determine the best means
for obtaining a sufficient amount of cot
ton bagging to meet the necessities of
the coming crop.
It is our pleasure fo say to the farmers
of the state that the Manufacturers’ as
sociation extended tous every possible
courtesy, and a full expression of sympa
thy in our efforts to carry out the recent
action of the State Alliance in adopting!
cotton as the covering for cotton. ;
We have arranged with manufacturers
to supply the farmers of this state with
cotton bagging to be guaranteed not
less than thirty-seven inches wide, and to
average twelve ounces to the yard, f. a.
b. at the mills. The members of the
manufacturers’ association agreeto take
cotton so covered atrlO cents additional
per one hundred pounds to cover loss of
weight in light covering.
To meet the conditions necessary to
begin the manufacture, we have contract
ed with the mills for two million yards
of cotton bagging.
This contract will not be completed
until it is ratified by orders from the al
liances of the State, covering the amount
for which we have contracted.
All orders will be promptly filled by the
mills when accompanied by such negotia
ble paper as will be accepted by the mills.
Manufacturers will not furnish bagging
unless they are fully satisfied as to the
responsibility of the parties ordering.
This may be established bv giving nego
tiable notes, suitable bank reference, or
ordering through some party who is
easily known to have satisfactory com
mercial standing. No arrangement for
che manufacture of cotton will be begun
until the alliance ratify our contracts by
placing orders wi+h the mills covering
the amount for which we have contract
ed, It will be necessary, therefore, for
each sub-alliance to order the amount
they may need, under the terms express
ed above, so that the manufacture may
begin without delay. Otherwise the
mills may be crowded, and late orders
will not be filled.
Mills will begin the delivery of bagging
about the first of August, in such sec
tions as it may be needed, the bagging
to be paid for as it is delivered. All or
ders for bagging should be addressed to
K. Odenheimer, Lane Mills, New Orleans,
or L.Lanier, West Point, Ga.
Mills will not begin the manufacture
until orders are in hand, stating the
amount of bagging that will be needed
by each alliance and the date of delivery.
We, therefore, urge every alliance to
make immediate arrangements, as deter
mined by the manufacturers.

years, pneumonia leaving her with a
bronchial trouble. Two years ago, her
lungs becoming involved, she became
very much emaciated and lost all
strength, being under regular treatment
of a physician and taking medicine all
hours of the day. Tins continued until
a year ago when I saw your advertise

tickling in her throat was unremitting
and so irritating as to make talking ini'

that another bottle was procured and

without it. She has no physician and
takes no other medicines. She remarked
lately that if she had not procured it

Last May a large carbuncle broke out

"Last fall and winter I was troubled
