BOE sets
meetings
The Board of Education set
its meeting date and times for
2016 at the Monday meeting.
It will meet the 1st Monday
of the month at 7 p.m. at the
Bus Shop for a workshop
meeting. By law, no votes may
be taken at a workshop meet
ing, although the BOE will
vote to go into a closed session
at a workshop.
New Superintendent Jeff
McDaniel is asking the board
to get together at 6 p.m. on the
2nd Monday of the month for
a meal.
“A personal check will be
written by me every month. It
will not come out of taxpayer
dollars,” he said.
A “caucus” meeting will be
held at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd
Monday. The regular meeting
will convene at 7 p.m.
All these gatherings, except
the closed sessions, are open to
the public.
Dr. Jeffery McDaniel (c) and his family were feted last week at the Chamber of Commerce to welcome them to Turner County. McDaniel is
the new Turner County School Superintendent. He started work here Dec. 1. He comes to Turner County from North Georgia.
