Rebels pull away in second for easy win over Atco
by Brad Christian
The Turner County Rebels
welcomed the Atkinson
County Rebels to Ashburn last
Friday night, hoping to quickly
put the loss to Clinch County
from the previous week out of
their minds. It was a tight
game for a half but the home
standing Rebels pulled away
with a dominating second half
to take the victory 53-13.
“You saw what you can do
when you play as a team,” said
head coach Leroy Hood when
he was speaking to his team
and Rebel fans after the game.
“We all need to continue to
play together as a team. Good
things happen when we do
that.”
The visitors from Pearson
put up quite the fight in the
first half. In fact, the score was
13-13 late in the second quarter
before Turner County scored

games, Moore has thrown a

For the game, Moore was

touchdowns. Temple had a
breakout game and finished 5
catches for 160 yards and three
touchdowns.
With the victory, the Rebels
improved to 5-3 overall and 3-

vance to postseason play.
Early projections have the
