union was held Oct. 28 at the
Jeff Davis Memorial Park in Ir
win ville, Georgia at 11:30 AM.
The hostess was Ruth
Kendrick Studstill and Nancy
Dean Streat. Ruth welcomed
all present, also she and Nancy
had pictures of the Braddy
family, of Jesse and Malitda
Musgrove Collier Shepherd
family, and Maltida Musgrove

Studstill gave the first talk
about the family in Talbot
County, then in which she told
about one of the pictures that
showed five ladies from Upson
County that came to Turner
County, who were Matlida
Musgrove Collier, Nancy
Dean, Mollie Reeves, Susie
Morgan and Raymond Hick
man’s mother Mrs. Hickman to
a hard life of farming. The
Reeves moved on to Ben Hill
County but most are buried at
Bethel Baptist Church Ceme
tery, Sycamore, Georgia. I
might add that most had con
nection to the Collier Family.

Ga., (Braddy) was 16 years.
She and our grandfather Wil

there in Macon on Dec. 7,
1902. Wilson Allen Braddy’s,
father Cary A. Braddy had
moved his family to Bibb Co,
town of Willingham according
to the 1900 census and shows
that he was a farmer. After
which they moved to Laurens
County Ga. on to Turner
County, Ga.

The City of Ashburn will begin accepting housing applications for its CHIP 2017-101 Grant from owner-occu
pants at 8:30 a.m. on December 4, 2017 for owners living within the following neighborhoods only:
Bounded by: S Lee St, Orange Ave, Peach Ave, Walnut Ave, Knight Ave, Kennedy Ave, Barber Ave, Hanner
Ave.
On August 1,2017, the City of Ashburn was awarded a Community HOME Investment Program Grant in the
amount of $306,000 to provide decent, safe, energy efficient and affordable housing to low-moderate income
individuals living in substandard housing within the above target area. It is anticipated that six (6) owners will
be helped by this grant for rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of their residences.
Assistance will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis by contacting Lauren Sandbach of the South
ern Georgia Regional Commission at (229) 333-5527 after 8:30 a.m. on December 4,2017 to be placed on
the housing list/waiting list. You may also leave a voicemail for Lauren Sandbach after that time and date, or a
message with the receptionist. Calls received before that time and date will not be included on the list. An ap
plication will be mailed (or may be picked up) after placement on the list that must be fully completed and re
turned, in order to participate.

Technician - Propane Gas
Ashburn, Georgia
BRIEF SUMMARY: Employee in this position performs responsible work with the construction, operations and
maintenance of propane gas facilities, and delivery of propane gas. May also be responsible for work with Nat
ural Gas.
MAJOR DUTIES:
• Performs assignments of work as directed by the Gas Department Supervisor or Department head.
• Delivers and properly invoices services for Propane Gas.
• Maintains customer relations in a satisfactory manner.
• Ensures departmental policies and procedures are followed correctly.
• Constructs necessary distribution facilities to provide adequate services for residential an industrial con
sumers
• Maintains required maps, plans and statistical data necessary for effective operation of the department and
compliance reporting and management
• Receives service complaints and responds through necessary corrective measures.
• Performs maintenance on all facilities, lines and equipment related to the Gas Department
• Position requires being on call and ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
• Performs related tasks as required
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: The City Manager assigns work in terms of departmental goals and objectives.
Work is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of departmental activities.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory or management
responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school education or equivalent. Physical ability to perform the assigned
construction and maintenance tasks. Commercial Driver's License with necessary endorsement for the opera
tion of a propane gas delivery vehicle.
