Robert “Bobby” Dandron passes away
Robert “Bobby” L. Dandron Jr. went to his
eternal home, November
27, 2017, at the age of
57, his family surround
ing as he succumbed to
cancer and passed on to
eternity. Bobby was
born in 1960, to Eliza
beth Dandron and
Robert L. Dandron Sr. in
Port Huron, Michigan.
His early childhood was spent in Michigan,
where he loved to explore nature and hunt for
wild mushrooms with his siblings. They lived in
a log cabin, and the house was filled with love
and laughter. Bobby and his family moved to
Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1973. He was an ex
pert fisherman, who enjoyed sharing his ocean
catch with family and friends. Bobby moved to
Ashburn, Georgia, in 1995, where he raised his 3

Mr. Gregory Claude Chapman, age 61 of Ash
burn, Ga. formerly of Willacoochee, Ga. passed
away Tuesday, Novem
ber 21,2017 at the
Southeast Alabama
Medical Center in
Dothan, Al. following an
extended illness.
Greg was born Decem
ber 6,1955 in Jack
sonville, FI. He grew up
in Willacoochee, Ga.
and attended Atkinson County High School
where he was a member of the band. His fa
vorites subjects were typing and French. After
graduation from high school he worked with Mc-
Cranie Preserving Inc. and McCranie Farms. He
later operated Carter’s Fried Chicken in Lake
land, Ga. for several years. He also worked with
his wife in the Flower Shop in Tifton, Ga. prior
to moving to Ashburn, Ga. where he worked at
Carter’s Fried Chicken in Ashburn. He was a
member of the First Baptist Church in Willa
coochee, Ga.. He was preceded in death by his
former wife, Janice Chapman and his stepfather,
sons and was an eventual full-time caregiver to
both of his parents. He was easy to love, a whiz
with cars, ever ready and willing to lend a hand,
fix a dent, or offer a gentle smile. If someone
needed him, he was there.
Bobby adored his sons and prayed for them
always. He gave freely to others. To say he was
kind, good and a loyal friend to all seems to fall
short of the man he was, as he never faltered in
showing love and respect to those around him,
whether deserved or not. Bobby is preceded in
death by his father, Robert L. Dandron Sr. He is
survived by his sons, Robert L. Dandron III,
Nicholas Dandron, and Matthew Dandron; 4

church news
Hope for the hopeless, peace for the fearful
Addyson greatly enjoys
staying at our house, just as I
liked staying with my grand
parents when I was a child. I
hope Addy’s memories of stay
ing with us will become as
dear to her as my memories are
of those days and nights that I
spent with my grandparents.
After Addy relaxed with
me as we watched Jim Carey’s
presentation of How The
Grinch Stole Christmas, we
turned in for the night. She got
up Saturday morning ready to
face a new day at Nana’s
house. As I was getting ready
to carry out my plans for the
day, as I often do, I had the
news on on the television.
Like usual, one bad story after
another was being covered and
images of tragic things were
being constantly flashed on the
screen. I looked at Addy to see
her little eyes locked on what
the news anchor was saying
and showing. I did not say
anything to her, but I wondered
what must have been going on
in her little seven year old
mind.
When I was her age, the
Vietnam War was in full
swing; all kinds of things were
being reported, including casu
alty numbers that were heart
breaking. It was upsetting to
my young mind to hear of so
much that I did not understand;
it left me with many disturbing
questions about what would
happen next.
I trust that children like

A Precept Upon Precept
Bible study of the book of Acts
Part 1 - Jesus' Witnesses, Em
powered by His Spirit, will be
held at Sycamore Baptist
Church, beginning with orien
tation on Tuesday, January
2nd, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. and
6:30 p.m. The study of Acts
Part 1 will conclude February
27th. The morning class will
meet from 9:30 til 11:30 a.m.
and the evening class from
6:30 til 8:30 p.m.
Luke's first account was his
Gospel in which he recorded
all that Jesus began to do and
teach. In his second Luke
recorded what happened after
Jesus' ascension to the Father.
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, em
powering the apostles to testify
to the power of God in salva
tion and in living every day for
the gospel. Learn how God
spread the gospel through wit
nesses of Jesus' death and res
urrection, and from their
examples, how you too can
witness to others. Stand in awe
of the power of God in believ
ers to endure persecution and

young lives with fear hovering
over them. Instead, I hope that
they will learn that even
though we live in a sin stricken
world that suffers horribly
from the consequences of sin,
God is always in control and
we can rest in assurance the He
loves us.
The tendency to let fear
trouble us because of what is
going on around us is not con
fined to the young —fear can
affect us all. Shortly before I
sat down to write tonight I
learned of North Korea’s most
recent missile launch. What
will happen next? Will their
actions impact my family?
Endless questions could be
asked in that regard, but most
of them have no easy and cer
tain answers.
There is so much in our
world that we have no control
over, but what we can have
confidence in is that there is
One Who is in control of
everything. He makes inner
peace available to us no matter
suffering for the cause of
Christ and embrace His power
in your life. Be encouraged by
the results of faithful servants
holding forth truth in a dark
world.
The Precept Upon Precept
study method is being used
across the United States and in
over one hundred foreign
countries by people seeking to
know the truths of the Word of
God for themselves. These in-
depth studies are widely ac
claimed for their practical,
personal approach to Bible
study. The study includes
homework, discussion, and a
powerful lecture time to direct
you in understanding the mes
sage of God’s Word.

study, contact Phyllis Pilkinton

how tom our world is. And as
we prepare to celebrate the
birth of Christ that took place
in Bethlehem so long ago, we
can rest assured that He came
that we can know perfect
peace.
As much as we sometimes
want to isolate and protect our
little ones from the realities of
the cmel and difficult world we
live in, we cannot. But what
we can do to help them
through it all is to remind them
that Jesus Christ can be tmsted
to bring peace to their hearts in
the midst of all of life’s hard
ships and uncertainties.
As we journey through this
season of celebration and the
observance of the birth of Mes
siah—Jesus Christ—the Bible
provides us with these words
describing Him Who was born
in Bethlehem long ago: “The
Word became flesh and made
His dwelling among us. We
have seen His glory, the glory
of the One and Only, Who
came from the Father, full of
grace and truth” (John 1:14,
New International Version).
His grace and truth pro
vides hope for the hopeless and
peace for the fearful!
