One of the prettiest church weddings ever seen in Whighatn was solemnized last Wednesday evening at nine o’clock at_ the Methodist church, Miss Bessie Butler and Dr. M. M. McCord, both of Whigham, were the happy couple whose hearts were ,tfede one by Rev. W. M. Blitch. The large church was filled to its ut most capacity with friends of the bappl&Mxmple. Lewis, Guyte Mc Cord, Charlie Chapman and Prot. Caldwell with Mrs. and Prof. Caldwell at the door. Entered the ribbon girls Misses Dixie Trulock and Ruth Jones, leading down the left aisle, while Misses Rosa Pearce and Bonnie Trulock leading down the right aisles. Then came in graceful style Miss Ada Trulock and Mr. Norman Peeble, Miss. Russell Lasseter and Mr. John Butler, Miss Nellie But ler and Mr George Wight, Miss Pearl McCord arid Mr. Murray Barnum. Then entered ’ the little flower girls Misses Ernestine Chestnut and Laura Be|l Bostwick. Ernes tine wore white organdy and rib bons with white slippers, while Laura Bell wore blue silk with white ribbons and white slippers. Next came the maid of honor Mis* Lucy McNair. . Then the bridal party entered, Miss Bessie Butler was leaning on the arm of her brother, Mr. Ford Butler, while Dr, McCord was with his brother, R.dbt. McCord, best, man. At ’the altar thev met and with enchant ing words they were joined togeth er as husband and wife. 1 The bride wore an exqusite toilet of white crepe dechine, trimmed with applique and rib' bans with veil and orange blos soms and carried an elegant bou- uet of bride’s roses with white rib bon, the maid of honor, Miss Lucy McNair, was elegantly gowned in iight blue crepe dechine with white ribbons, Miss Ada Trulock and Pearl McCcrd wore exquisite white organdies with white rib bons and bouquets of bride’s roses* Miss Russell Lasseter and Miss Nellie Butler wore magnificent white organdies and blue ribbons and carried a bouquet of bride’s rosesr After the ceremony the bridal party returned to the home of Mr. Byron Trulock, where an elegant supper was served and the happy couple received congratulations; and they were the recipients of many valuable presents. Mrs. McCord is q,lady of many charms of manner and character. Dr. McCord is a prominent physi Clan of our town and his future to distinction is assured. The happy couple went to housekeeping im mediately at the Mills’ residence, and are at home to their many friends. S. S. W.
