Mrs, J. W, Callahan with Misses
Mamie and Willie May left Monday
for a weeks visit to relatives in Jakin.
Capt. Jno. D. Harrell who has
been on a visit to his son in Boston
Mass, sailed from New York Tues
day.
Tuesday was legal Bales-day, but
no property of importance changed
hands. Only one land sale was
made.
Mrs. Will-Slocumb who has been
spending the.summer at Stone Moun
tain returned home the latter part
of last week.
Miss Maggie Swindell leaves to
morrow for Whitq Sulphur Springs,
Fla., where she will remain several
weeks. '
Miss Claudia Brannon, who has
been spending the past month in
Eufaula, Ala. is expected to return
this week.
Mrs. T. R. Wardell who has been
residing in Atlanta tor some time
has arrived and will spend the win
ter in thi« city.
Dr. Sam Chnstophine of Attapul
gus was shaking bands with friends
in Bainbridge Tuesday. The doctor
has many friend in the city.
It really strikes us that Gov. Jen-
niugs is going to experience an up
hill business in reaching the United
States Senate from Florida. .
Miss Sadie Thomas, of Donalson-
ville, was the guest of her sister.
Miss Wiltou Thomas in this oitf a
portion of the week.
Mrs. J. I. Bubers entertains this
evening at her elegant home in this
city, complimentary to her guest and
friend, Miss Caiborne, of Chicago.
Geo. D. McCall of Atlanta spent
several days in the city this week.
Mr. McCall was formerly connected
with the Plant System R. R. and
has many friends here.
The A. C. L. passenger trains are
now stopping at Cyrcne, something
they have not done heretofore. This
will be a matter of great convenience
to citizens of that section who have
all along had to go to Brinson to
meet paesengcis or to - board the
train*,
Mr,"and Mrs. W, M. I.egg hive
rented the home of Mrs. Agnes
Graves and are now keeping
house. Mrs. Graves with Messrs.
Ralph and Earnest Graves have
moyed to the Bon Air, where they
will probably remain for some time.
G. N. Lewis and family who hivl
been residents oi our city for some
time past left Tuesday night for
Cuba which place they intend to
make their future home. Mr. Lewis
bolds a responsible and lucrative
position with ihe American Tobacco
Company in Cuba.
The regular session of the Bowen
Baptist Association will convene
next Friday Saturday, and Sunday
at Magnolia Baptist church four
miles south of Whigbans in the Tom
Butler neighborhood. Eyery one is
invited to attend the services each
of these days.
The Chafing Dish Club was de
lightfully entertained by Miss Rosa
lie Kwilecki on Saturday evening.
Games and all kinds of amusements
were indulged in and a delicious
menu was served. This was the first
meeting of the club under its new
designation, it being formerly known
as the “Kimona Club.” t
T. B. Gremmer ot Bainbridge has
organised a dancing class in Talla
hassee. He has scoured the use of
the armory and is reported to have
a large class. The music will be
furnished by Miss Mary Whitfield.
Mr. Gremmer will probably give
weekly hops on Friday uiglit.—

Two weeks from this afternoon
the F. S. C. will meet Bainbridge
here for their first game of foot ball
of the season. This will be one of
the three contests that will take
place in Tallahassee. The other
games played here will be the ones
with the Florida University and

He was iu Bainbridge one day last
week and besides taking a number
of orders, he took back with him two
experienced coopers from this place
