Mr. Farman Dollar of the Blow ing Cave district was in the city the first of the week attending court, and while here gave out the statement that he would be a can didate for sheriff before the next primary of the county This an» nouncement makes still further complications as to who may be' come the next sheriff of the coun' ty. Mr. Fordham, the present en cumbent will be a candidate for re- election and it appears reasonably certain that A. P. Long, M. C. Ste gall and E. S. Perry will also be candidates. It has also been ru- mored that R. J. Rooney and oth ers may enter the contest. Mr. Dollar thinks that he has excellent chances for election, and announces that he is in the race to a finish. With the other men- tioned ones it is at least evident that the office of sheriff will not go begging in Dec|it South Georgia Methodist Conference. The South Georgia Conference of the Methodist church will meet in Sandersville on the 28th of this month. This is the third time that Sandersville has entertained the conference and though a small town the former conventions were very pleasant and successful. Last year the conference met at Thom' asvilleand quite a number of our citizens attended and it is expected that Bainbridge will be fairly rep' resented this year. It is under stood that there will be severa Im portant changes made, especially in theThomasville District Rev. J. T. Ryder will leave next week and unless he is reappointed to this charge will preach his last sermon before a Bainbridge audi- ence next Sunday.
